I’m trying to get an up front medical exam appointment for my wife in India. However, all the locations are asking for an IME number which she doesn’t have. They won’t let me book an appointment without it. Is there a way around this? The hospital staff is not ready to understand that she actually requires an up front medical exam where IME number isn’t required.

My husband too had the same situation. I convinced them so hard by saying that the process will be faster if you agree for upfront and many locations are accepting upfront. I called them two times and they finally accepted.

Hi

As per new policy update upfront medical test is NOT required if you are outland.

Refer this:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/medical-exams.html

Also, for India IRCC has instructed Panel Physicians to not to do Upfront as they are busy with Covid-19 wave2

*Sorry for highjacking the thread*

So how are we going to submit our profile? I think Upfront Medical test document is a necessary document and one can't submit their profile without it.

So, I guess it should be fine if I just write a LOE to the IRCC stating that my wife’s in India and she can’t take her upfront medical exam due to the COVID situation?
