If I’m correct your surname is your last name, your given name is your first and/or middle name if you have one.

You leave the given name blank and put the given name in the surname spot.
The new portal doesn't allow us to proceed with the account creation process if we do this. Every field requires a valid data.

No first name-FNU (first name unknown)
No last name -LNU (last name unknown

IRCC usually defaults to FNU for applicants with one name.

This is an update from IRCC for applicants with one name. Posting over here so that it helps others in the same situation.

We’re currently working on fixing this issue, but it will take some weeks to implement. In the meantime, you can apply for an IRCC Portal account by entering your surname in both the “Given name” and “Surname” fields. However, once you have signed into the IRCC Portal, when you enter your name on your application, be sure to follow the instructions on the form. Once we fix the issue with the mandatory “Given name” field, you will be able to change your name on your IRCC Portal account by going into your profile from the main IRCC Portal home page.

I am trying to create a account on New Visitor visa portal (https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signup?lang=en). Both surname and given name are in required field. But on the passport there is no surname. How should I fill up the new portal name field? Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi, how did you obtained the invite code?. I tried to register in the same portal and it is asking for invite code as well.
