No Surname on Passport. Is it a problem in getting PR

Hi There,

I have applied for PR under the express entry programme. I heard that applicant with only First name face problem in getting PR or Citizenship.

Is it true?

Please share your personal experience if anyone has the same case as me.

There is nothing like that. Who told you this?
 
It is allowed but it creates unnecessary documentation hassles everywhere. Most online system require last name. Then they enter your entire name in the last name field and keep 'first name unknown'/'FNU' or something like that. So on all your official documents you will be FNU 'your name'. This can create issues later. So if possible get your name modified so that there is some last name. Like some Indians, if you have your father's name/village name/Kumar etc. in the given name field, move it to last name and keep your first name in the given names field. Make this change on your passport and then start the application. If you have already started the application, you can change it later, but it will involve lot of hassle.
