No stamp upon Entry

hi All!

My sister and I landed in Vancouver 2 weeks ago. We used the kiosk to fill up our declaration. We stated there that we will stay for 34days as we have booked returned tickets already. After that, we showed our passport to IO and let us go. The printer paper where taken by another IO before we get our luggage. We did not get a stamp on our passport. Does it mean we can stay for 6mos as indicated in the cic website? We are planning to rebook our ticket and extend our stay but not longer 6mos. Is it okay? Pls enlighten us. Thank you.

If you did not receive a stamp in your passport nor a visitor record, the validity of your stay is six months from the date of your entry, or the expiry of your passport, whichever is sooner.

Wow! That was a quick response! Thank you so much! We are planning to call Vancouver Immigration to verify this so I guess we dont have to anymore. Thank you. :)

Don't trust everyone you meet on the internet! Call them back if you want to be certain.
