Hello everyone, Im from the Philippines and recently arrived in Canada at Vancouver. I noticed that there was no stamp in my passport that i entered Canada. Im wondering if the CBSA just forgot to put a stamp on it. Im wondering if that's ok or i should contact them. Pls help thank you

Hello po! Welcome! Is it a visit visa? if yes, I think it's alright! They have the record of you coming in since I believe they would scan your passport upon arrival. My aunt did not have a stamp on her passport and she stayed here for 4 months.

Hello, yes po it's a visitor visa. I scanned my passport upon arrival. Just worried why they didnt stamp it. But thank you :)

Cbsa do not always stamp unless they want to be specific setting an exit date. Usually implies you could stay for the max 6 months as a visitor.

Dearest members : ) I am happy to read this.

Just arrived from Iceland and also got no stamp and got confused.

So, I guess if not otherwise indicated I can stay as a visitor (German) up to six month, right? I just got confused also, because I did the electronic passport thingy ;) before going through customs (passport scan etc.) and have stated to stay 30 days on my arrival form, but I have not booked a return ticket and I don´t know how long I exactly am going to stay. Maybe I want to stay for up to six months, but on that print-out after passport-scan, there was like my intented days of stay (30), so this does not mean, just because I have put in, I want to stay 30 days, that I have to leave Canada before day 30? It just counts as an approximate indication of the length of my stay, right?

Hope this makes any sense to you :)!?

Looking very much forward to your answers, with kindest regards from lovely, but rainy rainy so rainy Vancouver ;),
ciao for now.

The important is...
If CBSA stamped your passport with specific date, means u need to exit Canada at that date but.. if they dont stamp it means u can stay up to 6monts

Thank you for the quick answer, Nadaa, that is good to know, and as I thought then, cool.
So, it does not matter if I indicated like 30 days approximately, that´s cool then : )!

Congrats :)
i wonder u stated tht u dont book your return ticket, can u inform me, do you have any relative here or just leisure trip? As i understand to convince the CBSA officer to enter Canada is if u have return ticket otherwise they will give u difficulty time

Hey again, dearest Nadaa, thanks again for your message.

It´s just a leisure trip, but I will see what happens : ) -
I mean, like I just gave my electronic paper ticket, at the way out to the luggage areas, to some officer, she was standing with another lady there and then asked me my intention of my stay and let me go through.

And I mean I love Vancouver so I could imagine of staying here longer, but I think it´s very hard to extend my visitor status to some permanent status, unfortunately. I´d have to sincerely fall in love at some point hahaha?!

You are lucky! :) i think it depends on the officer, coz they asked me for a return ticket when i entered Vancouver.
