Hi,

I applied all the documents that were listed on my checklist on July 20th. Two weeks later I received a notification that I passed my medicals. It has been almost 5 months so far and I have not got any other notifications such as: Background check-passed, etc. Is it usual for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Applicants? I started worrying as I read that applicants are being notified during the process of consideration their PR applications.

I apply as a single person and criminal clearance record from my home country was not required as I was under 18 before came to Canada.

Even I had no notifications after the 'medicals passed' till a few weeks before the sixth month ended I directly received my PPR.

Each case is unique considering the variables involved and there is no pattern that can be applied other than the "80% within six months".

I just put in my application and then continued with my life and allowed the PPR to pleasantly surprise me :)

Good Luck !

If it has taken too much of a time, then apply for GCMS notes.

As stated above, apply for your GCMS notes. Best way to know where your application stands.

Hi!

Thanks for your input! Would I get notified on my CIC account without the GCMS notes? Or it is the bet way to find out what is happening? How long it usually takes to get an update?

Update on your application could be fast or take a while. I would suggest getting your GCMS if you’re in the 4th or 5th month so as to get a better idea where your application stands, if not approved. There are multiple threads on here detailing a step-by-step process to order GCMS. They’re usually $5.

That now sounds a little bit scary. Cuz it has been exactly 4.5 months since my submission date today. Could you please tell me what could be the reason that I do not get any updates on CIC website? My friends who got the PR and were in the same situation as me, never used lawyers, and do not even know what GCMS notes are. They waited for over 5 months, however, I am a bit worried now.

I wouldn’t know exactly.

I was worried just like you when I was in the 4-5 month stage. I ordered my GCMS notes around 5.5 months into my application. Turns out I was approved 5 months in and I received an update that my application went into BGC update on CIC two weeks after approval. I’m still waiting for a PPR or Landing interview almost 2 months after approval.

Each case is unique. So unless you order your GCMS, no one can make any assumptions as to where your application stands currently.

There are so many links on where to apply. Could you please recommend me one? The best option for me maybe?

I applied through www.visafile.info

They were good, I got my notes in 25 days. You can wait for response from other members to have more information on other service providers for GCMS notes.
