Dear All,

I am asking this question on behalf of my friend.
He wants to apply under NOC 2147 (Computer engineers), his 80% responsibilities meet with what is mentioned at CIC web site.

This role he performed in past (3 years ago) BUT his employer is not ready to provide a Reference Letter with detailed responsibilities which he had performed. Please guide what can be done in this, as per them it is against their policy, and they mentioned the same in a mail as a reply. But for sure this NOC matches as per the responsibilities he had performed!!!

Thanks in advance.

It will be difficult to prove experience and eligibility without the employer's reference letter, this requirement is one of the "corner stones" of your application as an FSW, and its very difficult to manage to go "around it". Even when you provide the letter - they might contact the employer for verification.

He has to find a way to get it. maybe if he explains his situation to his direct management, or HR management...or senior management...there has to be someone in the organization who understands that it is an "employees" right to get a piece of paper describing his duties - for whatever reason he may need it for.

Thanks emamabd for your quick response.

I got your point, but that is big MNC and they just go with their policies :( is there no other way to do it? can a colleague provide the same on white paper with his official mails ID? or an affidavit can be submitted OR any other way??

hmm....I am not sure but maybe.....
A letter from an employee who is currently working in the organization can sign the letter and you can attach his visiting card too on the same page.
That way he would be taking your responsibility....though I am not sure about the CIC contacting the employer as emamabd is saying.

CIC understand this issue.

Get the experience ceertificate whatever they give (even without job descripton)

Get email from them that company does not give letter with job description

Attach a cover letter explaining the situation with email from company and job description by urself

Unfortunately, it is still possible to be rejected if the evidence provided does not satisfy the officer that you have skilled work experience.

To the end, it is important to submit as many supporting documents as you can. e.g. job offer letter/contract, any letters that may have been issued in the past to enable you renew your work permit, letters that show merit increases/promotion, paystubs, the job ad that you applied to, etc. Check the company's website to see if it describes the role of someone in your position, print and attach.

In addition, write your main duties and responsibilities yourself, include evidence of your attempts to obtain this letter(reason why it is good to request the letter by email so you have reply in writing) and their reply, then include letter from co-worker or clients, etc. Also write a letter explaining why you are unable to provide the letter and list the documents you have provided to help the officer with assessing the file.

Thanks coolguy2010 and SenoritaBella for your valuable points.

@coolguy2010
Thats what even I was thinking alongwith that if any colleague can write on plane paper will be plus.

@SenoritaBella
Yes, to prove employment definitely all other things (Offer letter, paystubs, meritincrease letters, tax deducted docs issued by company) are in place and can be produced very well. And Reference Letter was requested to them on mail, and got reply that as per company policy, in india they dont issue such letters, definitely hard copy of that mail can be attached.

So only thing is Reference Letter (issued on company letter head) which explains your Responsibilities is missing, how to handle that, that is the issue!!!!
