Still no card, I fly on December 12th and I would like it by then!!!!

So frustrating waiting 2 years for my PR and then having to wait again for the stupid card.

Leaving tomorrow, no PR card still

Anyone else had any experiences recently ?
Relax and go on your vacation and enjoy it. You should be fine with your passport alone. PR card is processing time as at last update now 71 calendar days

It's written on the individual visa. Every case is different.

I came back into Canada with NO issues at all without my PR CARD.

I just shown her my UK passport and he let me in without asking any questions.

So anyone with a Visa Exempt passport who's worried about travelling they can do so only up until March when the rules change.

Yeah - I'm not at all surprised.

I do see myself as a sort of Pioneer taking these steps, I was one of the first to leave and come back using the Open Work Permit from the Sponsorship process and then many others did the same after I did..

Same really goes for this, Travelling while waiting for the PR card to arrive, so much uncertainly however its perfectly fine to do so if you are Visa Exempt....

HI James,

I have a similar case , I will land by next week and I do have to return back to UK after 2 weeks , by then the PR will not be ready so can I re-enter again during march with the UK passport.

did you show them the COPR or any other document ? what about if I tried to reenter from USA to Canada by car , is this will be visible.

thanks

You can fly directly to Canada with the UK passport. You're visa exempt.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news... :) I've been on this forum since 2009 and have seen more people than I can name leave and return under these circumstances. You're just one more example of someone who did it successfully. Having said that, time to time people do run into issues returning (even those who are visa exempt). We just had one recent non visa exempt example where entry was refused with a valid OWP and valid multipe-entry TRV and an inland PR application in progress. These are the minority - but when it happens, it really messes things up for people.
