Hi there,

I got my ITA recently and started the online application for PR. While gathering my documents I noticed there was no request for a Police Certificate. My friends said they saw this on the list of supporting documents when they applied for PR and we are all from the same country and have been living in Canada for at least 3 years. We are also in the same NOC. I have however gone ahead to get a police report from my country and here in Canada. Should I submit my application without this certificate or should I attach it to my letter of explanation?

EDIT: I should add that I called IRCC and the person who answered told me that after I submit my PR application, I would be asked to also submit the Police Certificate. The thing is, he didn't seem too sure of his answer and I don't want to make a mistake.

Thanks!

Most people don't submit RCMP as its not required I didn't either but I received a request for Police Certificate which I then got submitted but it took 2 weeks for me to receive it. So i suggest you submit it if you can. IF you have already submitted then get RCMP done to save time incase you get a request.

thanks, how soon after you submitted the PR application was the police cert requested? also, was the cert requested from the online account or did you have to send it via mail/post?

Each case is different. Until and unless CIC asks for it, no need to do it. I have seen many cases where they never requested for Canada PCC.
