Hi

I dont have the option C and will write a letter explaining why and also will included my end of year tax forms for the past 3 years and all my pay stubs for the past 3 years up to and including this months.

My question is, how necessary is it to have a letter from the employer. I have requested one and it is turning into a circus trying to get it from them. They sent the letter to HR to have it approved, and then to the legal team to make sure its okay for my manager to sign, and this is where it stands at the moment. I've been waiting over 2 weeks for this and this is the only thing left on my application. Everything else is ready, in the envelopes just waiting to be couriered to Mississauaga.

I am debating whether to just send it without since I have my tax forms for the past 3.5 years of employment in my country and pay stubs for the past 3.5 years, up to and including this months.

any advice or words of wisdom are welcome.

thank you.

I'm confused, what do you mean by "your country"? Are you the sponsor? The letter from the employer is for the sponsor.

The letter is part of the document checklist, so you should have it.

Assuming you are a Canadian Citizen working abroad, I hope you showed proof that you intend to return to Canada and proof of how you will support yourself when you get there, just to be safe.

If you are a Canadian PR then you have to be residing in Canada to sponsor.

Send it without the letter. I never asked my employer for a letter because I didn't want to alert them to my intention to leave. I included payslips and my original offer letter. No issues.

I am the sponsor and a Canadian citizen.

My company is being very difficult. I am going to be working for the same company when I get to Canada, and of course I mentioned this in the letter. They just don't want to write me a letter stating that, since it could be used in the future in legal proceedings, blah blah blah. They are basically just protecting themselves.

Other than that, my friends in Canada all wrote letters stating I could stay with them when we arrive.

thanks for your input.
