Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello,

I previously worked with a company for 3 years (1.5 years on contract and 1.5 years full time on US H1B visa). During the contract phase, the company which i was working with had hired another recruitment/payroll services company to handle the payments and we were given offer letters from that recruitment company. After conversion to full time, i was also sponsored with H1B visa. However, i did not receive any offer letter for the same as it was just an internal transition within the same company.

As a proof of employment, I have the contractor offer letter, but no full time offer letter. Instead i have documents for H1B visa filing which indicate dates (of working under H1B visa) and services offered to the company. Also, I have a termination letter with starting and end date as full time employee. Other than that I have a reference letter from my supervisor mentioning dates of employment and responsibilities.

My concern is that i dont have an offer showing full time employment in the company. Also, i cannot seek the offer letter now since i left the job 3 years back and i no longer have any contacts within the company. Are these documents (reference letter, visa application doc, termination letter) enough as proof of employment?

Thanks!

Theoretically, you only need to have reference letter including all the details mentioned on CIC website: duties, title, hours, salary, benefits, start and end dates. Also, tax claims and payslips for respective years add more value to the overall employment proof.

Okay. Does the reference letter have to be on company letterhead? That's what it says on the website. But same problem, neither my supervisor nor my self have any current ties with the company.

You need the company letterhead. It's company's duty to give you a letter saying how long you worked and what you did, unless the break up was really ugly and it's a small family-oriented business.
