In order to obtain an LMO, the employer wishing to offer you the job must demonstrate to HRDSC as a minimum:megalomax said:Aeo is gone. They use tjr labor market opinion.
From my understanding labor market canadiana given jobs first before foreigners.
- That the position has been advertised on job bank for at least 2 weeks out of the last 3 months, and that no suitable Canadian could be found to fill the position
- That they are offering AT LEAST average wages for the position. They do this because they do not want immigrants coming into Canada and undercutting the local workforce.
If that can be demonstrated HRDSC should be able to issue an LMO, and then you can get a TWP (temporary work permit), begin work and then apply for residency whilst working in Canada under this permit.
It's definitely doable, just takes more work and dedication than applying under FSW1. But the advantages of FSW2 are that you don't have to worry about getting your application in within a certain cap, you already have a job so no need to worry about that when you get to Canada and also you are not required to show proof of settlement funds.
Best of luck,
Wayne.
