No more OWP with inland applications sent to CPC-Mississauga?

Since new applications are being processed in the Mississauga office i was wondering if there are any changes to the actual application process.

I searched on google and found:

The Case Processing Centre in Vegreville will no longer be processing these applications. AND, you can no longer include an application for an Open Work Permit or Visitor Extension WITH your sponsorship and PR applications. CPC Mississauga will let you know when or if you can apply for the OWP and you must submit visitor extensions separately to Vegreville. There is no longer any possibility of being able to continue working on implied status by including the OWP application with the PR application. This applies ONLY to those who have NOT submitted your application yet. Those who have already submitted your applications do not need to worry about this.


Me and my Partner applied Sept 2013 so we are not affected by this and we should be able to get our OWP (fingers crossed) when they process our AIP.

BUT..is this even true????? also, this is pretty important for those who are applying NOW.

Is this the official message from CIC? Apparently, some CIC agents said that they can still apply for OWP to go with the application but other's not.

If this is the official statement from CIC, then this is bad news for Inland Applicants...

NO. That was found in a forum online.... who said it was legit..BUT i dont know that for sure.

Does anyone know if there is an official word anywhere regarding OWP for people applying now??

To be honest with you I don't know...I talked to the CIC agent before and she told me I cant apply for OWP since they change the office to Mississauga. Others here had different answers they said you are still allowed to apply eventhough they changed the processing centre.Since CIC agent told me I cant apply, I do as what I told S.., I didn't apply and I will be waiting for my AIP then apply online which only takes 2 weeks...

I'm sure I saw a "senior member" here respond similarly to a poster's enquiry. (Sorry, I can't remember which senior.) Either "yes, it's true" or EVERY comment posted here, by senior or no has to be taken with a grain of salt.

So far nobody can say for certain. There is no official word from CIC, and when you call in to ask, some customer service reps say you can submit the OWP still, and others say you can't (typical of CIC call centre).

Unfortunately until CIC actually states something on their website, or someone here that submits an OWP along with inland app to CPC-M actually gets a response back saying they are supposed to wait and submit only after AIP... nobody will know for sure.
