After reading many posts on the forum, I can't feel more pessimistic about my application for PR under the new EE system.

PhD students without CRS-score-recognized (RA/TA) work experience can barely score >400. Now even people under PGWP and with >400 points are desperate about the >800 points of the first draw, it seems impossible for PhD students unless there is a separate route like the previous PhD stream under FSW. So much regret about not applying last year~

Yet there is a last hope for going through PNP after PhD graduation. Hopefully PNP rules won't change in several years.

PhD student seems like be screwed. Even after getting the DR. degrees, there is not much advantage over other peoples.

Well it seems like PhD students with only RA/TA work as their job experience wouldn't even be eligible to apply under Express Entry. If RA/TA is not considered as either Canadian or foreign job experience, then PhD candidates won't qualify to even get in the pool.

thats kinda sad actually!
Cooks and production line workers given preference than PhD candidates.
