CIC website is now updated.

Effective December 13, 2016, the cumulative duration limit no longer applies to all current and future work permit applications (as per public policy pursuant to section 25.2 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act). This includes applications submitted in Canada, overseas and at ports of entry.

Please let me know this case is applicable to all type of work permits, It is applicable to all NOC codes ?

Intra-Company Transfer employees also eligible to work more than four years ?

As I can recall, ICT permits were on the list of exeptions from 4 year rule. So, yes.

Hey team. This is fantastic news for all concerned!

Question for you. I entered the country 1 week before this rule was repealed. Due to my 3 years of work experience in Canada prior, I was granted a 1 year visa.

I am in the process of accumulating skilled work here for the purpose of applying for PR. I don't 1 year will be enough.

Does anybody know what options may exist for me? Can I extend this visa?

If not, can I get a bridging visa if I get my PR application in on time?
