No Medical Exam, can i remove dependant child?

Hello,
my wife and i file for PR and she is the main applicant. I do have a child before knowing her. The child is listed under dependent. The Issue is that the child couldn't make to Medical exam, i tried everything but her mom doesn't allow me to take her to the medical exam even to see her.
The application is now pending for months without something happening, can i just remove the child? did someone face the same issue ?

if your child will not be allowed by your exes to do their medical then you will be ask to sign a waiver that you will drop him/her as your dependent and you can no longer sponsor that child in the future. So explained that to your exes that even if you have no intention right now of getting your child to join you in canada it is important that she/he will allow the child to do his/her medical for the child benefit in the future. the child will have up until she/he is 21 years old to come to canada with easy process through family sponsorship. I have known of so many people who are on the same situations back then and regretted it because when their child reached 18 years old they wanted to come to canada. So please explained to your exes that they should not fear because if in case you plan to sponsor the child when they are still minor it still needs the other parents approval. the kid can not fly without other parent's consent.

You need to show that you have tried your best to do IME for your dependant child. Show all the proofs you have, then you will be sent MILs a couple of times, send again your proofs and lastly the IRCC will send you a waiver to sponsor your dependant child in the future. Sign it with a notary public and you are good to go. So basically it's not a problem at all but it might delay just significantly your application eventually.
