According to the new update, LMIA is not needed with a job offer. Is it a good idea to go to Canada on a visit visa, look for a job and then use it on express entry to get 50 additional points?

That's not how it works.

You still need an lmia with a work permit unless you have worked in a company for 1 year and that employer name is on your permit, like a NAFTA.
