No Last Name issue- Urgent advice required

Hi All,

I am still stuck on what should I mention in Last Name column since I do not have last name in any of my official documents.. I am still searching for some definitive answers.

Please consider that First Name and Last Name are mandatory fields. And as per CIC website, we cannot mention * or Not Applicable neither NA..

Please help and advice on this..

I am sure there would be many people who must have faced the issue, please help me with the same.

Lets say you name is A B C , are you saying that all of your official documents have your name mentioned as A B including passport and study documents ? If this is the case why dont you just go ahead with your name as A B with B being the last name ?

Else go ahead with you name as A B C but you would need an one and same person affidavit.

You should mention your name in Surname. Leave the first name blank. See if it works.

Ok, lets say my name is only A in all my official documents including Passport.. Now, where should I mention A in first name or last name?? If I mention A in first name then what should I mention in Last name??

Affidavit is not a problem as I already got it made however; I am struggling on the system requirements.

No, it does not work like this.. First name field is mandatory as well.. The error message is "must begin with an alphabetic character and must only contain alphabetic characters or the following special characters: hyphens, apostrophes or spaces"

Exactly, the link says leave the given name field as Blank however; that is a mandatory field which does not let me leave it blank.

Yes but still does not work as per CIC online system requirements.. They have kind of contradicted themselves.. Not sure, what should I do..

Try contacting them. That is the only way to make them aware of your situation.

Hi All, I dunno if its helpful but here it goes.

A friend of mine had the same issue, what we did was that we entered the name in First Name and under the Family Name field we entered '-' (hyphen) and it was accepted and we created the profile.

Just to make sure we are good to go, we have also dropped a mail to WES, and are still waiting for there reply.

Hi All,

Today we got a reply from WES regarding the last name absence.
They say:
"If you do not have a last name you may enter in a dash mark under the last name field of the application"

Hope this clears the doubts of many.
