No issued Study permit at POE

Hi good day. I just arrived in Canada last Aug 21, 2022. Could you please help me in my concern. I flew together with my Auntie and Uncle last Aug 21, both senior citizen/Canadian citizen and was in express lane at the immigration. However, I wasn't given a study permit at the 2nd immigration even though we mention to the 1st immigration officer that I'm a student and first time travelling in Canada.

I'm worried since most of my batchmates got their student permit at the port of entry. Which office should i visit to have my student permit processed.

So you left the airport without your study permit and entered Canada as a visitor. You will need to go to a land border, flagpole and get your permit there. What is your nearest US land border? Do you have US visa? You can’t study until you have your study permit.

None from immigration told us to wait for the student permit or proceed to a different counter/room so we left immigration as we thought we are all done. I only have my student visa as of this time. Can I not return to Pearson intl airport immigration office to request for one? I don't have a US visa. Thanks

You don’t have a student visa. You entered as a visitor. So you left immigration when you were told to go to the counter to get your study permit.

You can’t get a visa at Pearson as processing is within immigration’s secure area. You must go to a land border so Niagara Falls is closest. Or Lewiston near Kingston. Call CBSA and explain your situation and ask for instructions to flagpole at Niagara Falls. However do you have Canadian TRV to flagpole at land border. Niagara Falls is a bridge so you may have to walk across.

Here is a recent thread of someone who forgot to get permit at airport and then tried to flagpole (and was denied). Person was told to get lawyer.

we're not told anything by the immigration officers. But thank you for the advise we'll check and hopefully we can get my student permit soonest. Thank you.

The immigration officer should've also noticed the TRV upon checking of passports but after checking he just told us to have a good day and that's it. So we proceed exit at the airport. Your uncle or Aunty had their first time in Canada and should have directed you further.

The big issue is that you presented yourself as being part of a group with your aunt and uncle. You should have presented yourself separately because your immigration reason was different.

Poster's Only option is to go to the local IRCC office from the link below, by appointment only. Once he gete appointment, they should be able to issue TRP or advise otherwise
