I just mean to manage expectations. "A year" in my message shouldn't be taken literally, but as "not yet and definitely not soon".
People should have a look at the current average processing (I believe around 8 or 9 months now, with a service standard of 12 months) set that as a realistic expectation plus or minus a couple months, and not micromanage their application after "almost two months".
In particular, I'm yet to see an applicant whose application was delayed specifically for the test (unless they missed their test window, failed it...), so when the test invitation is being sent isn't exactly a good indicator of how things will go.
It's gonna come, if it's after 3 months and the rest is wrapped withing 5 months, well, all good, and if OP gets stuck in SS or a complication physical presence, the test will be done long before those turn green.
People are free to compare themselves with their "cohort", but it's potentially a painful exercise. Many in my family applied at the same time, mid 2023, almost all got it in less than 5 months, and that built an "unrealistic" expectation for the one person who isn't a citizen yet.
As for the ATIPs and MP requests and all, it's a subject for another day, and hopefully something OP won't even need to find out about.
