Hi, my CRS score is 479 and I’m waiting for the draws to happen from last 4 weeks. And, I read somewhere that from January onwards, draws will be occupation specific. I’m worried about this, not sure whether this new rule will impact me negatively.

My job profile is - 8 years of experience in a US Medical billing outsourcing company in India. Superivising team members and my designation is Senior Team Lead.

Even if draws continued without being occupation specific, your score is on the low side. Can you increase it?

Yes, at some point soon we expect IRCC to introduce the occupation specific draws. We don't know what occupations will be selected and how the program will work. However yes, this could impact you negatively. Note that medical billing isn't a big industry in Canada (unlike the US) since we have socialized health care.

My score is on low side? I have not heard this from anyone. With Masters, CLB 9 and sibling’s 15 points this is what one can get. I had 484 but as I recently turned 30 so I lost 5 points.

Scores have been pushed up because of lack of draws for a long period of time.

yeah thats true, but gradually it will drop to the bracket of 470-480.
There's no guarantee of that. I think the 480 range will happen sometime later next year. IMO anything under 480 is a dice roll.

With a lot of uncertainty in the world and economic hardship many highly educated professionals are trying to leave countries that were not known for immigration before so demand will still likely be high for quite a while. We’ll need to see the changes to the immigration programs. Changes will likely have the biggest impact on who will qualify and just your numerical score will likely not be the only factor that will matter.
