I don't have a birth certificate and cannot get it as there is inadequate documentation with me for the time of my birth. I referred to this forum and spoke to few consultants. I have received conflicting opinions. Some say that I can provide my matriculation certificate and affidavit as a proof, others say that only matriculation certificate will also work, some say that it is useless to apply without a birth certificate as it will not be processed at all.

What is the experience of people who have already received PR. I am pretty sure that not everyone would have a birth certificate. So what is the way out? Seniors please advise. My entire application is ready, I just want to be sure about this before I send across the application. Thanks.

Hi, these are options that have worked for other applicants in 2014;

1. Attach a copy of your school 10th grade certificate that lists your full name, parents name and date of birth.
2. Get an affidavit of birth attested by your parents/guardian with your names, date of birth and their own names indicated. Note that a self-attested affidavit will not work.

So hope you can work with either option above as they were accepted by CIO for FSW 2014 applicants. Cheers :)

Thanks a lot. It's brought a lot of relief to me.
