NO AVAILABLE DMP FOR MEDICAL EXAM. WHAT TO DO?

Hi guys,

I'm here in Canada as a TFW. I have an on-going PR application through PNP. And last week, I received my medical referral from Manila CIC office. The medical referral letter was dated July 1, 2011 (stamped). But since they only sent it through ordinary mail, it took more than a month before it arrived here. I have already forwarded my dependents' "section A" for them to accomplish theirs and I started to contact the DMP of the province where I live in right now for me to book my medical exam.

Unfortunately, the doctor (DMP) is on vacation and the earliest schedule that they can give me is on Sept 9. That is exactly 1 month after I received the medical referral. I asked the DMP's office if there is alternate doctor but there's none according to them.

I have emailed manila CIC office about this for them to be informed and at the same time asked for their advise.

I would like to ask those who had similar case on what and how did they manage to go through with the medical examination? I'm planning to just wait until the DMP of this province comes back rather than go to other Province and have my medical exam done there. I just thought that it would be just make things complicated if ever there will be a "re-do" afterwards.

I'm only worried about the "30 days" time frame indicated in the letter. I'm just hoping that with the information I relayed to Manila-CIC about my scenario, they would be considerate enough to NOT cancel my application. Besides, it is only me who will be delayed. My dependents could have theirs within the 30 days requirement.

I hope I can have some other ideas from people who had similar experience as mine. Please feel free to add to this thread.

Thank you all in advance.

Halo,
I think the best advice for would be to go to another province. I was in the same situation. I live in Boston but could not find any appointment in Massachusetts so I drove right across Connecticut to Stamford where I did my medical. As long as those other DMPS have CIC authorization, why would you be required to redo the test?
Sincerely,

Hi okwama2002,

Going to the nearest province and having my medical exam done there will give me an additional $200 on the cost.
These are gas, bridge toll-fee and the difference between the cost of medical exam if done here.

My dependents' back home will be able to have theirs done by next week. I'm assuming that Ottawa office will receive their results first.
Do you think that will be a big issue and be a cause of problem for my application?

What I meant with "redo" is that; if ever Ottawa office will require further test let's say additional bloodworks etc.. That would make me go back to that clinic again.

Regards

Halo,
I see your point. I also believe that you have to pay for your family's medical. I dont live in Canada and would really love to get there and start a new life so I would gladly fork out an extra 200 if it would make me get the PR even one day earlier. I wish you the best in your application.
Sincerely

Where do you live? There should be DMP to accommodate you to do the medical.
I was able to book an appointment right away. I receive my medical request last August 2 and it was stamped last July 18, 2011. However, most people say that 30 days from the date of the receipt. Meaning count 30 days from the date that you received the letter. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.There should be a doctor for you.

sherwinjavier,

Hi! I'm from PEI. Isa lang ang DMP dito sa amin and wala siyang alternate. And kung lalabas me ng PEI papuntang Moncton, New Brunswick more than 200$ ang madadagdag sa gastos because of gas, bridge fee and yung bayad sa mga medical test dun mas mahal compared dito sa PEI.

Salamat.
