No available date for PCC.. Is it possible to get it done from another city ??

hello friends,
I am from INDIA.

I am trying since last 2 days to get an appointment for PCC. It says booked till 24may, but doesn't allow me to pay the fee & schedule the appointment.

If am not getting one in my local Passport office, Can i get it done in another city than mine .??
Would it be valid.?

which city you are trying.. generally under one RPO . there are many PSKs you can go to some other PSK also.

plus there are other options also for PCC other than passport office .. like SSP office, local police station etc.

I am from amritsar(punjab), so trying to get an appointment from local PSK.
For PCC, there is only one psk, but it doesn't have available dates.

Kindly enlighten me about other options,
Are they equally valid ??

YES it is equally valid.. also mentioned on CIC's website.

For residents of Punjab: You can apply to your local Senior Superintendent of Police, or the senior ranking police official at the police station in your district.

I went to psk chandigarh today and had a frustating experience as they are not ready to give PCC for my wife with martial status till we update here passport with my name on it.
So for my wife, I will be approaching SSP office tomorrow.
You can download the form from their website online and go their with 4 photos, address proof, passport and date of birth proof.
they will send the person for enquiry in 2-3 days and then you can collect PCC from there in 6-7 days.

I dont think so ..
I think PCC from SSP is also valid for the whole country. Otherwise CIC would have mentioned clearly on the website..

Recently, there was a rejection of an application because the applicant provided a PCC from Chennai Police only. He had lived in Bangalore and Chennai and the PCC from Chennai police does not cover Bangalore. If he had provided the PCC from PSK, he would have been fine as it would have covered the whole country.

If someone takes a PCC from SSP office, the PCC will only show the history under SSP office's jurisdiction. So how will CIC be sure that the applicant does not have any criminal activity in any other city?

If you have lived in the same city and same jurisdiction throughout, after turning 18, then you can get a PCC from local police. Otherwise, its better to get it from PSK.

Your PCC is valid for 6 months for your current country of residence. And it needs to be valid at the time of submission of your eAPR. I don't think it will be a good idea to get your PCC now.

How is the process of getting PCC from chandigarh psk?? How many days they take to provide PCC??
And what kind of verification is done?? Do they come on address ??

As already posted above, it is better to get PCC from PSK as it covers the whole of India, in case you have moved around since you turned 18.
In case your current address is the same as the one listed in passport and you have aadhar for the same address then you will get the PCC from PSK immediately within 30 mins. In case of change of address, it will trigger a police enquiry as for new passport issue/renewal with the associated delays etc. (and yes the police will visit you home in this case)...
