Hi there...
I've been on implied status while waiting for AIP of our sponsorship, & currently not covered with Alberta Health.
We just found out that we're pregnant and would like to see a doctor, Does anybody in this forum knows
any options that I could get covered with health insurance for pregnancy, even if it is a private insurance?
How much will it cost? We are looking for any options available. Thank you
God Bless

There is a member on this forum that sells insurance. You can find his contact info here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/insurance-options-in-british-columbia-t405604.0.html;msg5082410#msg5082410

He has said that there is only one private insurance that covers child birth but you have to get it before you get pregnant. After you get pregnant, you can get some insurance that covers pregnancy related expenses and emergencies but not childbirth itself.

You will need to obtain status or be prepared to pay out of pocket/find an insurance provider that will cover an existing condition.

Hey there someone could help me out ..I am on BOWP and my spouse sowp and we got surprised she just pregnant a week ago and our work permit is valid until November 2021 same as Alberta health care ..hope to get Pr otherwise I’ll apply for an extension for BOWP ..baby birth is valid while you are on implied status ? If I not getting my BOWP until November? We’re eligible for AHICP but no sure in that is included baby birth
