Thanx a lot

Our time line:

2. PNP approved on 22/01/2010
3. Received approved PNP pack and certificate back from St. John's on 07/02/2010
4. Sent application and nomination for PR to Buffalo on 08/02/2010
5. Application received by Buffalo on 24/02/2010
6. Received request for medicals on 21/07/2010
7. Completed medicals on 13/08/2010
8. Received an email from Buffalo on 19/10/2010 advising that our file has been transfered to Detroit to expedite the processing of our
application

Since then, no word from Detroit. We just hope that the saying "no news is good news", is true in our case. ;D ;D ;D

1. You have to be in NL for 6 months as student or worker.
2. YOU NEED A JOB OFFER that offers you a 40 hour position. Any job is good enough. It does not has to be in your field of education.

The nomination process is a bit slow now a days though. it takes 3 to 4 month to get nomination once you apply.

I beg to differ from your statement. I believe if its a student who is on PGWP, he has to be working in his stream of study or a stream related to his studies. Also, it doesn't have to be 40 hours, they are a bit flexible with the hours depending on what job you have and how much wage you are drawing. They make sure you are able to economically establish yourself in NL. Also, it usually takes a month or maybe two to get the Nomination approved. I don't know about Skilled worker's eligibility.

Do we required to submit LMO if we apply under skilled worker category or only job offer will do?
Anyone has applied under same category is requested to share experience

You will need to submit a copy of your WP (closed or open) and the job offer. You will also be required to submit all your educational documents. Once they are satisfied that you fit the criteria, they will interview you, the program coordinator and your Nomination officer. If your NOC is C or D then you will be required to give your IELTS exams if not yet given.

Thanks for your reply immigrationaspirant.

Well I don't have work permit, I'm applying from outside of Canada.
As per their immigration website, under skilled worker category eligibility they have stated you "Have a Citizenship and Immigration Canada Work Permit or is entitled to apply for one"

And on their skilled worker guide, page number 4:
What is the NLPNP Skilled Worker Category?
The Skilled Worker category is for prospective immigrants and Temporary Foreign
Workers currently working in NL who have certain skills which are beneficial to the
provincial labour market. These skills must fill a shortage or specialized need in the
existing provincial labour market. Applicants must have either a guaranteed job offer
from a local employer or be currently employed within the province on a valid work
permit
.

So I think if one has guaranteed job offer from a local employer then he don't need to have been working in the province or to have a work permit.
whats your views?

Hi,

I am currently working in St John's for 8 months. I am preparing to apply for NL PNP under Skilled Worker category. Can anyone share your processing time under this category in recent times?

Thanks,

Hey everyone!

Me and my girlfriend applied for PNP in December ( they confirmed that they have received our application on the 8th of December 2014 ) but we had no update since.

Has anyone a good idea about the processing time under NL PNP nowdays?

I applied on May 2015 in St.John's in person. They told me that the processing time is purely based on on the job type & qualification and in most cases based on the validity of your work permit (If ur permit is goin to expire Jul 2015, u can expect a call by Jun 2015). Otherwise the wait time is 6months to 1yr (this is ridiculous and unfair for applicants who apply early to be on the top of the game, but for the number of nominations(1050) they need to approve in 2015,6months seems to be a very reasonable time).

Applied on: 15th May 2015
Receipt Received by email : 25th May 2015

Pls, post timelines for NLPNP approval or any updates you receive from NLPNP on this forum. Doing this will benefit the current and the future applicants. I wish everyone good luck with their NLPNP application.
