i married my husband recently in india. he's my cousin as well. i was wondering how long the process will take? and is it necessary to provide all emails.. even if they're personal? i'm a canadian born citezan

I have a question in regards to my application that i am going to submit in shaa Allah within this month.

I have been reading a lot of posts regarding Nikah only cases. I recently got married in Feb 2013. and mine is a Nikah only case. I am a canadian born citizen. However. This is a love marriage and i have text messages, emails gift receipts, pictures as well as 4 years worth of phone bills. I also have boarding passes, ticket copies., wedding card, hall receipts, suit receipts, a letter from my work. All of this is going to be attached with my file.

In my opinion, Nikah only cases should not be rejected or questioned because the government has already made the long wait time. After rukhsuti, it will just be harder for the two to live in distance.

i have been doing a lot of duas... namazes... and i really just don't want a delay.
My question is, how many people have had their nikah only cases rejected? and more importantly, how many have had it approved??

Please help.

My papers have been sent to islamabad since November of 2013. haven't heard anything, but i did send them 5 years worth of proof.

Its been 6 months for me.... kinda hoping my husband gets his visa soon.

Sorry for the late response. We submitted our entire application in October 2013, and got an eligibility letter on November 2013. So my papers are currently in Islamabad. There is no word from them. Im hoping this process gets done faster... :-[ Please remember me in ur duaas

I dont know the exact time for India. you can check that on the cic website. and i dont think you need to send all emails. just emails in general as proof.

I'm sorry, may be this is obvious to others, but what do you guys mean by "nikah only". Do you mean registered marriage, and no celebrations, no reception, no honeymoon? Or do you mean you got married, but haven't yet lived together and/or have no kids?

Nikah only meaning. Married but no "honeymoon" signed the papers. Had a wedding. But cuz of distance. No honeymoon]
