Guys, my family's documents (4 passports) were on its way to one Miss Afolayan, if not that I was constantly in touch with DHL, it would have been delivered to her in Lagos while I stay in PH. Pls track your document/call customer care and if possible check with the DHL office. Our passport is now on its way to PH.

Please relax and put ur mind at rest cos God has already done it for u. I know how u feel tho cos I was in dt same shoes few weeks ago.Just continue to bless and thank God.
Using my case as an example, our passports got to accra on the 17th of nov and I ad nothing from dem till on the 9th of dec for pick up mail. It wasn't easy especially whrn u read on the forum and people that there passports got to AVO weeks n days after mine were getting pick up mail,but at the end it came.So just try to put ur mind at rest,I obviously know it is hard. U will surely rejoice soon.

Much mann is correct. I engaged UPS for the Pickup of my Passport from AVO and not DHL or VFS. My documents were picked up on Monday by UPS and should be delivered tomorrow.

TY you can employ the services of UPS also if you dont wanna engage DHL or VFS.

Logic dictate they won't. The only reason is that in the passport request letter, AVO "recommends" DHL or VFS.

However, in the passport pick mail, it usually state make an arrangement with a courier service" to pick up your package without recommending any hence my reason for affirming that you have freedom to choose.

Any reason you specifically don't want to use either of the above? Will it not be better to entrust this all important package to services that has been used and trusted?

Your choice anyway.

@ Nanonye. On arrival, you will be asked for an address where your PRC will be sent to. When you go for SIN registration, you will also be asked for that same address. You can use the SIN paper copy given to you as a proof of address when you register for Alberta health insurance. Even if you're not going to stay for long, ensure the address is a friend/family address where your PR, health card can be received and kept securely for you.

You cannot return to Canada except you have your PR card.

wow... information is key... i didn't realize that the SIN paper was sufficient proof of address. I went the long route of opening bank accounts; nice one.
