Congratulation GENTLEANDREW!
Mine is still in process. what could cause the delay since our passports were delivered the same date as yours even an applicant whose passports were delivered a day after mine has decision made too. Please house I need AVO active e-mail address to send a friendly mail to them. I am worried and nervous, this last minute wait is not easy I cannot focus on anything. Please God intervene for me oh and every person expecting positive updates from AVO.
Don't worry buddy ......
You're at the finishing line and every patience in you is much needed now.
Unless if the delay is unnecessarily noticed,i always prefer that applicants wait at this stage without sending a friendly mail to them.
It's not the end of the day yet so i believe you still have today and tomorrow to see the decision made clause :D.
It's going to show soonest .....keep calm coz everything is under control .

Thanks Kollins. Its actually 8 hours difference. thanks again
Whao !
So it's actually 7.30am now in Calgary against 3.30pm in Lagos currently.
Chunk of 8hrs to adjust to a new life and go for morning service when we're preparing for evening service here!
Guess calculation of local times with reference to different locations learnt in elementary Geography makes sense now :D
Cheers

Congrats to Chuka and Doohdear on your successfully landing in Alberta which also happens to be my Province.

Please guys I need a clarification.

Chuka you said this in an earlier post and i quote "For those coming to Alberta, we would need in addition to our CoPR and passports, a proof of address in Alberta like a utility bill, lease agreement or bank account details, to complete the process of your health cards"

Chuka and Doohdear, i want to believe this Proof of Address isnt needed at the airport when you are required to provide an address for the mailing of your PR Cards.

Also, for people like myself that will be residing in Hotels when we land bcos we wanna have brief landings and return to Naija, how do we get Canadian addresses for the processing of our Health Cards? Can this be deferred to a much later date. I guess a friend or relatives address should suffice if it must be done immediately.

Your thoughts.

before you sent AVO a mail, have you clicked the process to show you further details of your application. some people just logged in their ecas and see in process and conclude that the whole application is still in process without clicking d "in process" to show further datils
1. we have started processing your application on...date
2 your medical has been received
etc
i just solve the same issue last week for an applicant.

Congrats Andrew. Your PPR should be around the corner now.
So what have u finally decided to do with the Visa validity extension stuff?

Thanks a lot• I am actually expecting our pick up mail• So fascinating to know that what they told my wife was different from what I had thought when I spoke with her at home• They told her that they have agreed with our date of November which we requested• I am really happy for that and cannot wait to receive our passports

Yeah,I understand what you are saying• Kindly send them a friendly mail as you have mentioned though I believe you should get an update on or before tuesday• I sent them one on thursday specifically thanking them for the call that they made to tell us that they have heeded to our request and to ask them for when our passports will land• Just be polite and straight forward and it should not in verbose in style•
Cheers•

Thanks Andrew. We landed Calgary about 7.45pm on British airways. On arrival we proceeded to immigration where we presented our passports and CORP. We signed the COPR in front of the immigration officer and NO POF was asked for. We were asked generic questions like: have u been convicted before in any country, have u been to Canada before etc. The immigration officer then asked for a Canadian phone number and contact address where our PR cards will be sent to. At the end he gave us back a copy of the signed CORP and said you are now permanent residents of Canada, congratulations. On our landing form we had indicated we had more than 10,000 dollars cash. We showed them, they took record of it and we were free to go. No hassles at all, very simple and straight to the point. We did our SIN registration and Alberta Health insurance registration yesterday. All we needed to provide was our passports and the copy of CORP given back to us at the airport.
I must say Canada is a nice and beautiful place. Calgary is warmer than what I expected but I have been told it may get cooler soon and as far as I am concerned, its been a lovely experience.

This is quite revealing and I am really happy that all the people that have talked about their landing formalities have repeated thesame thing• I wish you all the best• We will join you over there and kindly divulge information here that will be of benefit from time to time• Cheers
