This is my problem. I have not been able to log in to check the status of our application. No matter what name combination I tried, the UCI or the application number. We're still flying by God's Grace, we're just flying blind, hence my envy of those able to check their status.
The good thing is that you have a prior response from Accra.....this is a prove that your application is already in progress.
In the meantime ,I really don't know the combinations of your name that you have tried.
I have got a couple of buddies who experience such scenarios ....I'll try to give you the solutions they employed.
Firstly ,send a CSE directly to CIC telling them you can not access your ECAS status with your family name........it may take up to a month but they will surely answer u...the link is below.....
https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx
Secondly, send a CSE to Accra office that you can not access your ECAS status with your family name.......they should respond to you within a week. The link is below......
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=accra
Thirdly, place a call to CIC in Canada with the number below and make your complaint ......you will get an immediate solution even though you need to be super patient as you may spend almost 20 or 30mins on Fone with them.Call them anytime for 12noon Nigerian time (8am in Canada ).
+1-613-944-4000
Select 1 for English
1 for foreign affairs
2 for immigration
Call is being transferred to CIC
1 for English
2 for status
1 for PR
8 digit client id number will be asked.
Like i said ,you need to be patient on Fone with them.
Lastly, before you try all the suggested options above(I don't know if you have tried these combinations ),
*Use your first name instead of your family name.
*Use a combination of your first name and family name together with no space in between.
* Use a combination of your first name and family name together with space in between.
* Use a combination of your family name and first name together with no space in between
* Use a combination of your family name and first name together with space in between
These are the solutions employed by my buddies that have same issues ...and they are fine now.
Cheers.

By best mode, i want to assume you are talking about the "best" freight forwarder? AVO suggested DHL and vfs. I believe fellow greats in the house will respond appropriately. I have not reached the stage you are talking about.Cheers!

My personal opinion still feels we have limited options since it seems AVO already nominated their preferred choice.
This does not say we can not use other courier options but you need to be careful and personally make sure its a success.
The only alternate method will be vfs Nigeria which seems not to be popular among us.
I think its down to applicants's choice knowing fully well that despite the few inconsistencies with DHL,higher percentage of applicants never experience the identified issues that currenly grips some applicants in the last one or two weeks.
I like to always look at the positive side of the coin no matter the situation so I believe all will be well :D
Cheers.

I used DHL and my experience with them was satisfactory. Initiated pickup on a Tuesday, called on phone in the evening and was given my CBJ no that evening. Received my package on Friday morning.

Called DHL customer care number and gave them my name and originating DHL OFFICE. This was to ensure that I had been booked for pickup.

I believe that apart from FedEx, all other courier services can pick up our passports at AVO. I said apart from FedEx because I personally enquired and they said they no longer offer such services. UPS was affirmative when I enquired there.
AVO suggested DHL, maybe because they have been the most reliable. Actually, what AVO suggested was for us to use a PRE PAID RETURN ENVELOPE from DHL which isn't what is obtainable. I think thats only possible with Ghanaian residents but not internationally. I sent my passports to AVO using DHL but was told that the To and Fro journeys from DHL in Nigeria are completely independent of each other so even DHL isn't doing what AVO suggested. It was at this point I decided to enquire with other Courier services.
Pease i am not suggesting people ditch DHL. Its just a personal analysis I have done and I will use whatever courier service I deem fit for the return service.
