Nobody argues with you...like I say,let us not make mountain out of all these issues.
You make it feel as if applicants submitting their applications to CIC can submit in USD....most applicants sharing their experience here are sharing it based on their application stage experience. The only line/proof I would love you to paint now is to say it is expensive to use about $40 dollars to raise Canadian drafts.
I have posted this link(your referred link) severally and I'm sure every body have it (...)...but this only applies to the local visa office.
USD drafts are not accepted in Novia Scotia.
[size=12pt]Also,kindly share your timeline which I think will be a better point of reference for all here

Cheers.

Apologies sir if you misunderstood me. You have taken my posts out of context and made claims that shocked the crap out of me. Lol.

I thought we were responding to a question about charges for raising a draft to cover RPR fee. I also thought my posts were clear as I mentioned "if you are raising the RPR fee draft" and "AVO accepts USD". So I obviously wasn't talking about initial applicants or payments to CIC in Nova Scotia.

Application Status: I was banned from disclosing the details. All I can say is that the AVO speed I am seeing on this thread gives me confidence that AVO will likely get in touch with us by Q1 next year.

You really are doing a great job. Keep it up.

@ Kollins

thank u bro

Y'all will have to forgive me, for I have been a very silent follower of this thread since the past several days, perhaps beginning to count in weeks. But I couldn't just keep staying silent after just reading that some of us are overpaying GTB to get the FX draft.

Maybe, charges for customers that make the FX request in person are different, I don't know. But if you use GTB internet banking to make the FX draft request, "Details of Charges per (transaction) - Commission: 1% of Transaction (subject to a minimum of 10 units of the currency), VAT: 5% of Commission. Please Note: Request received before 2pm will be treated same day, while those received after 2pm will be treated next working day."

I copied that directly from my GTB internet banking page and having raised FX drafts in the past, I can confirm that this is accurate.

So for example, if you are raising the RPR fee draft in USD (advisable, cheaper for you than raising it in CAD due to bank's exchange rate) for you and your spouse ONLY, the amount on the draft would be USD $900 and the charge would be $10 since the $10 is higher than 1% of $900. There will also be a 5% vat on the $10, so your total charge is $10.5.

Another beauty of using internet banking to make the request is also the fact that you don't have to go to Oyin Jolayemi, VI (branch where draft is made) to pick up your draft. They can dispatch it to any branch of your choice (selected from a drop-down button on the internet banking draft request page), assuming you have a few days to spare. It is your choice if you want to go to Oyin Jolayemi (you'll be able to collect immediately), but I just thought you should also know that you don't have to if you still have a whole week before you submit your documents to AVO. The draft can be dispatched to that branch close to your office/house and you just walk in and pick it up.

thanks for d info
can u raise d bank draft on normal current or savings account
or u need a dom account.

By submitting PCC from abroad, do you mean you live abroad and want to obtain Nigeria PCC without coming home or you are in Nigeria and want to send PCC abroad or obtain from abroad. Please clarify

Kollins, GentleAndrew and others,

Please does anyone knw the reason(s) why POFs were requested from some applicants and while it was not requested from some other applicants. This is to allow 2014 applicants to be better prepared. Thanks.

MAIN REASONS
1. You submitted Assets as proof of funds (CHC will demand standard POF)
2. Your initial PoF is less than the required size
3. Your family size have changed
4. You submitted a bank letter instead of FD or bank statement
5. Your statement was printed like 3months before it gets to CIO in Nova Scotia
6. The VO in charge of your file.

How to Beat this?
1. Submitted FD or bank statement printed the very week or day you submit to CIO
2. Make sure your POF overshoots by atleast 1500dollars
3. Update your POF with Accra before MR is sent
4. Do not use asset as POF

Conditions
1.Sudden change in the family composition of applicant and as such the existing POF can't cover the family any more.
2.Sudden large amount in the statement of account used as POF(Account history is inconsistent)
3.Lack of correlation b/w payslips if submitted along with initial application and statement of account.
4.Long waiting period b/w time of application processing and request by VO.
5.The use of joint account could also be another factor.
6.Any other reasons best known to the officer handling your case.

Ok so lets merge both.

Your best bet is to be prepared to provide it anytime it is requested. You can still be asked to provide it after avoiding all ten reasons above.Worst of all the officer handling your landing process can deny you entry outrightly if you can not provide it on landing at the airport.
