Well,so that you do not make mistakes you can send them a mail informing them that you just got married.Then,ask them for the necessary documents that you are meant to send.I think that they will respond to this because it is different from you aiming to know your status.

@ Hopefulval, first go thru the checklist and then note what you would have sent if you were married while applying in the first place.


Also you need to update all the forms where necessary.

1, update POF
2, proof of marriage (marriage certs)
3, check all the forms and fill where applicable for your spouse
4, pay application fee for spouse
5, level of education for spouse (certs)

but let the checklist be your guide

Guys, judging from the records, its seems average waiting time for MR from the date PER was recieved is a yr.

Hey guys,

with regards to the additional documents for change in marital status, you don't need to provide any of the spouses educational credentials (if you've already made up the required points using only your educational credentials). you just need her passports, photocopy of her international passport, payment (if you want her to join you), police clearance and fingerprint, Updated forms and updated schedule A forms for her....Those were the forms that I sent and everything was ok...

Some even receive MR in less than a yr while some more than a yr. someone said AVO will treat 2013 applicants this yr so they can face 2014 applicants and this their new express entry applicants next yr.(don't know how true it is but this person went to AVO sha)

Quite true. CIC is clearing the backlog from FSW 2013 and will soon posting updates for FSW 2014 applicants. The Canadian government wants to ensure that come 2015, FSW be will phased out having treated all FSW cases in readiness for Expression of Interest model.

@ Amyy. If I may ask, who went to AVO and came with the information that AVO will treat FSW 2013 applications this year while they will face Fsw 2014 and express entry next year? To the best of my knowledge only 2 seniors went to AVO recently, Temi and olamide1 of fsw 2011. Temi didn't ask while olamide1 is yet to say anything of such. Unless u know someother person we don't know either on the forum or not. Pls shed more light on this if it is of a truth.

Pls they should hurry oo cos we really don't know what s going on in our country and I wouldn't want to be here in 2015 cos of election.(don't kno what will happen then)

I know no one knws for certain when we will start getting replies, but just gestimate...

It might be the 3rd or last quarter of the year.If they have not started reviewing our files by now,it is likely going to start happening in the final quarter of the year as per MR.If we have any inkling from people who have used GCMS now,then we can guess accurately.From the person that commented about his/her GCMS note,it seems that they have not started reviewing.That leaves a lot to be desired.Remember that they are going to carry out some checks before they start issuing MRs.These checks take a while and usually months.So,it might just be from the last quarter except we have latest gist from any available and current GCMS notes.
