Fellow Nigerians,

Please how do I puchase bank draft in Nigeria. Which of the bank/branch is doing it in Nigeria? I contacted GTB but they said they dont do it - that it will not be successful.

Please help.

Hi, sorry about the wrong information given to you by your GT Bank branch. GT Bank actually issues Canadian dollar drafts. That is where most Nigerians get it.

If you are in Lagos, pls get accross to their Funds Transfer Head Office at Oyin Jolayemi Street, Victoria Island. You can fund your domiciliary account (or your friend's account) and write an application for the draft to the same unit and submit through your local branch. Request that you want the letter scanned to their Head Office.
All the best.

Thanks friend,

But that means I must have a domiciliary account with GTB and must be done in Lagos ? coz I live in Abuja. Can I use my GTB master card to pay instead ?

Also, Please where do I mail my completed application to, Accra ??

Thanks

Hello all,
I landed Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada since 15th May, 2014 with all members of my family. The journey through Qatar Airways from Lagos - Doha - Montreal & Canada Air to Winnipeg therefore was pleasant. My children are very excited for the fulfilment of long time dream.

I'm settling down & I will get back in details
In summary, I'm fulfilled. I love my new home & country.

Regards!
gina.

You are welcome to winterpeg , Manisnowba ... shoot me a msg via this forum should you need advice or info ...
Cheers,

Congrats Temi and Olamide am glad your interview went well. Dcrest congrats on your PPR. To all forumites keep on keeping on no time is too late to land in Canada as God makes all things beautiful in his time. When Accra is delaying, use the time to get busy acquiring skills and certifications that can be useful here.

The wait can be killing!!! Trust me I have been there but I used the two years plus it took me to start ACCA certification while in Nigeria, I wrote my last paper before I landed and that certification gave me a big boost in Canada. I got that information on the forum that with ACCA I can get CGA in Canada and I started immediately. Was it easy NO but it's easier in Naija where One has a lot of help in family and friends than in Canada so I urge everyone to take advantage of the waiting time to enrich oneself.

This Journey is a marathon not a 100 meter dash! While I don't mean to scare anyone immigration at the initial time can be tough and challenging but with God and positive mindset we will succeed.

I still remain Yours faithfully,
Babakura

Yes, you will need to have a dom accout with GT Bank or use your friend's account and like I said before, ask your branch in Abuja to send your draft application to their office in Lagos to process. THe draft will be mailed back to your branch for you to pick up when ready.

Alternatively, you can come down to Lagos and do it your self. You may also use your credit card but a lot of people advise against this because of the risk that CIC may encounter problems charging your Nigerian card for an international transaction. This sometimes happen and if CIC can not charge your card, they will return your application. The choice is yours.

The address for mailing your application by courier is:
Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Federal Skilled Worker
NOC Category
Primary NOC 2014 Code: XXXX
49 Dorchester Street
Sydney, NS
B1P 5Z2
Canada

Gtb does bank draft. i used their bank draft to pay the RPRF and application fee for my son. Go to plural house at oyin jolayemi in Victoria island and they will do it for you. just pay the equivalent of a US dollar into your dollar account and they will do it in about 3days. they even sent my draft to my branch on the mainland.

Hi, don't sweat it too much. Once your application is opened up, the CIC processing officer may just pass it to the correct desk.

Best of luck.

I am not sure that will be a ground for rejection since they usually open the envelopes. I wish you success. Mine also reached May 15, 2013

Thanks
