Once the principal applicant has landed, I think he (the son) can just drive down to the Canada-US border, step out to the US and return to land.

Jodav, this guy na real prof oo. I think 9ja4dLord is right. I once read it in a sister forum that its possible to just cross out of the canadian border and come through it again to complete the record 'Landing'.
Oga Akpors pikin case na really special one. :)

Yes, he is right!

People that are already in Canada on work permit/student visas and that have just had there PRVs can always go through the Canada-USA boarder then come back and tell the immigration at the Canada boarder that they're for their PR landing procedures.

Some land on Peace bridge by going through Fort Erie and making a "U-turn" at Peace bridge(before getting to the USA). By doing this; will make them be on their way to the Canada boarder as if they were coming from the states.

Also, some have had no issues at walking the Rainbow Bridge at Niagara, get an administrative refusal of entry into the US, walk back to Canada and complete their landing procedures.

I sent a mail to enquire about my application on the 16th January and they responded with the mail below

"
Dear Sir:

Re: Application # E001234567

Please be advised that an acknowledgement letter was sent via email on January 7, 2014. Your file was then transferred to the visa office in Accra. As your file is no longer in our office, please contact their office with any enquiries or additional information.

Thank you.

Coincidentally, someone also told me I can also use a previously issued UCI and by the time I logged on to ECAS I saw that my status is "In Process"

ohhhh! Thats really great. I'll advise you never to put up your UCI number or any other vital information on the forum or anywhere on the web.
It may not have much implication, but I still hold the belief it could be used to access your info, most especially by someone that knows you or has information about you.
The best I wish you always!

Congratulations, Chief HAkpoguma!
Quick "dumb" question, house......
As per Oga's son that's already in Toronto, on a student visa...... He becomes a permanent resident on the basis of being Oga's dependant. His visa will be stamped in Accra, and sent back to him by DHL. He will already be inside Canada when everyone else lands in a few weeks time.
Now the question......if he's already inside Canada when others are landing, as a dependant, how does he "land"? As in complete his record of landing without passing through immigration? Was just wondering oooooooo.... ;D
A very good question - I have the same in my mind.
