Hello, People...
I am presently in Accra, sitting down in a cafe in Osu area, broadcasting to My canada people on the forum...
Babakura, you should have alerted me on time, nah!!!!! I wouldnt have booked Arik o! Just like you said, the Arik flight left Lagos around 8:45am this morning, you can imagine how on the edge and angry I was!!! And Aero left exactly on time.
My greater worry was actually because I didnt know until late at night yesterday, that I should have filled and printed out an IMM0008 form (it was mentioned in the PPR mail, but not expressly that I should fill it), and I was yet to print it out as I was waiting in the departure lounge...
We got to Accra around 9:30am Nigerian time, and I took a taxi to the Canadian embassy. On the way, I asked the taxi man, who was quite a gentleman to take me to a cafe where I could print the form. He obliged without changing the initial price (15 cedis), and I quickly printed it and arrived at the embassy by 10:45am Nigerian time (9:45am).
The security men let me in without question, and I submitted the documents to a lady at the counter. She asked me to come back by 3pm for the visa....but the security men asked me to come back by 2pm. Everyone seemed very nice.
So, I am waiting here at the cafe, with nothing to do....just watching the time pass by, and browsing....
I will be returning by Aero flight in the evening....I hope they dont delay like Arik!
I pray for more rain of PPR, MR and PER in the house, AMEN!!

Hello, People....
I finally collected the visa on the passport yesterday at 2:30pm from the Canadian Embassy.....and there was nothing leafy or maple about it.... funny....(I was actually expecting a maple leaf somehow embossed in the visa or something....lol)...Anyway, I carefully looked through it to make sure the spellings were correct, and the lady gave me two copies of the COPR. She said congratulations....
The guards at the entrance were very nice. (By their disposition, in addition to the joy you're probably feeling, it is actually very difficult not to tip them.....you probably have a few cedis left anyway.....)
I took a taxi in company of two people I met at the embassy back to the Airport....at 8 cedis. Thank God, Aero was actually on time, although we had to wait a long time inside the airplane after boarding for some paperwork to be done in the airport. Finally landed in MMIA at 8:15pm, into the darkness of PHCN outage.....I kept looking at the visa on my passport, feeling surer with every step in the darkness that I had made the right decision.....
I ended up in my room, exhausted from the day's journey at about 9:40pm, giving thanks to the Almighty that this PR journey is finally beginning...
I want to say a big thank you to everyone on this forum. You have been my courage.....you have been my patience......you have been my comfort......you have been my encouragement.
By the Grace of The Almighty, all our aspirations, our dreams, our updates shall all come true. AMEN!!!!!

Hearty Congrats to everyone on this forum I must say. Reading through the last few lines, its clear this is where the "Olori eres" are hiding....lol
I received my PER in August 2013. I know I have a waiting time to do but want to ask if I can pull out the fund in my account for other purposes. PLEASE DOES ANYONE KNOW IF CHC-ACCRA VERIFIES BANK BALANCE OR STATEMENT?

NB: "Olori eres" mean the successful ones.

Yes you can.
I doubt if accra confirms the account statement, at least not to my knowledge. But I am sure no one or organization except security organizations, can have access to your bank account without your permission, so I guess your bank will request your permission to release your bank statements. But I really don't think accra confirms. I stand to be corrected.

Lol......Floxzy....
I get you.
You can remove the funds from your account whenever you like....Accra or CIC cannot check your account balance behind you....(at least, not legally). But a word of caution here.....
The PR process is quite fast these days, and people are receiving medical requests so soon after PER. And sometimes, with medical request comes a request for updates, like Additional family information form, police certificates AND BANK STATEMENTS.
These become particularly important if you happen to have a change to your status or family.
You are only given 60 days to send the required documents or kiss your application goodbye.
Therefore, before you think of removing the fund from the account, be sure that you can replace it back within 60days if need be. That is very important.
It is very distressing and particularly stressful if you have a 60day deadline to refund a money you have invested into something that will not mature in a while.

Dear Ashela....
I understand how you feel.....we've all been there.....when you fell passed over....when someone who applied after you got PER before you....when someone who got PER after you got medicals before you.....etc etc...
Its a train.....a waiting train......and Patience is the name of the game.
You can submit a case specific inquiry.....Im sure you have your UCI now, since you have PER....just mail them in Accra or in CIC...
Wishing you the best.

@Ashela........ You almost broke my ribs as I dey laugh . In fact you are not alone on this. I have exhausted all the permutations I knew to deduce the workings of Accra in the last 2mths . The more you look the less you see.

I pray that it shall come at God's own time IJN .
