Congrats Maldini on your MR.!!!!!
As a matter of urgency, I would advise you to notify Accra of the error in the spelling of your twin baby's surname , all errors must be reported no matter how tiny, particularly on spelling of names, and date of birth. If you allow this to stay, you may have cause to refer to it in the future, and such error may remain reflect on the COPR form.

I will share an experience with you.

My second daughter was recalled from boarding school when we got our MR, and of course you may know how children sometimes emaciate when in boarding school, due to poor feeding, etc. Of course during that period we had to take a new set of passport photographs as required by Accra, so my daughter appeared in that state in the passport photo, which was eventually attached to her COPR form.

Now, on landing, and at the immigration point, the officer that received us, argued that my daughter that landed with us was a different person, that it was not the same person on the COPR form. To convince her, it took us over 40 mins, explaining how children change when they are in boarding school, and had to even show her some family pictures. But I tell what, it was a frightening experience, at that point anything could have happened, we could have been denied entry, Yes!!!, the officer could have decided on various actions that would have been unpleasant, but of course GOD took control.

My experience here is obviously different from a mis-spelt surname, but I am sharing this just to tell us that we shouldn't overlook minor errors. You never can tell what it might lead to, ''a stitch in time saves nine''. Just my 2 goals scored by super eagles :D

Hmmmmmmmm I never knew you still know how to write in good English!!! I was already used to the Pa mufu English!!! Anyways thanks for sharing the experience.

congrats MAldini on d MR

Hi everybody, I am a new member to this forum. I applied for PR in May 2011, they responded from Sydney on the 1st of June 2011, Accra acknowledge receipt Jul 2011, they requested for additional document which was my husband's transcript and it got to them on the 19th of September 2011. Nice then I have not heard from the Accra VO. Whenever 8 enquire about the status of my application they tell me it is still in queue for review, which sounds poetic to me (queue for review). please I need to know I am not alone in this, of is there anyone with an inside info on this accra matter?

Dear All,

Accra is working o! I guess that our MR and PPR will start flowing in soon. A friend of mine (not yet a member of the forum) just received a mail from Accra that his application fee cheque did not clear. He had received AOR and receipt number duly communicated to him. His Ecas is showing In-Process since january 2012. He was asked to pay the application fee again within 30 days otherwise his application will be returned to him. He informed me that he paid with a Standard Chartered Bank Draft. When he contacted Standard Chartered, he was told that the cheque has cleared and the money had left their bank but they were reluctant to give him any detail or date of clearance of the cheque. What should he do? He is very worried and troubled now. Elders in the house, please help. He is MI 3 and applied in September, 2011 but received AOR in January 2012. Thank sir! :(

Your post isnt quite clear... but in summary, i'll advice your friend to (in the interim) pay another fee...

Then take out time to investigate & sought out what happened to the initial payment.

it is well !

Omo Naija,

Thanks for the prompt response, the summary of my mail is that an applicant whose application has been acknowledged and receipt number given was contacted today to pay another fee because his initial draft could not be cashed one year after. He was giving 30 days to pay otherwise, his application will be returned. If he wants to pay another fee as you suggested, how should he go about it, another draft? I am not able to advise him because I engaged an agent to pay for me in Canada. Further advice is welcome please.

Merci boucoup.

Thanks Ikemba. But what in your opinion is the cause of this long delay in processing of application. Since September 2011, my online status has been "received by visa office". I am really curious.

Double portion, I wish Ikemba knows. The rule of the game is patience, patience, patience.......

@egrace62,
