Orire, congrats on the new addition we bless God for safe delivery. Please expect only favourable response and drop every plan of legal issuue as that is the imagination of your consultants and would never be your portion.

Am sure your mail clearly ask if there is any change in status!!! Am not quite sure on what the actual process is as others would advise later but i urge you not to rely on consultant often time they mislead applicants.

I advise you send a mail to Accra informing them of the birth of the baby and that you want to include d baby in your application. You will be asked to fill the appropriate form and pay the application fee, MR for the child would be sent later and then Visa altogether.

Do you really need the temporary Vsa stuff? Are you set to land immediately? If not then give yourself some few weeks and everything would be sorted out. All the best and congrat once again. I name the baby' Godswill' Boluwatife

Cheers

@ CFAdoc, congratulations on your PPR and receipt of your visa, here is wishing you the very best.

@ Orire,
Congratulations on the arrival of your baby, certainly it is the Lord's doing and he will grant you peace in all that concerns his arrival.

I guess you have about 50 days to collect your visa, it is good that you have notified AVO about the addition to your family, I will advise that you also fill the necessary form of the addition to your family and if possible arrange to pick up a passport for your son and have the passport number updated too and then send to AVO. I'm not sure how soon AVO can arrange for your son's medical, in my opinion an infant's medical is a formality, my 8 months old son at the time of MR was only checked by the Doctor no sample was taken and that was it.

Most likely you will have to get the visa for the other members of you family before picking up your son's visa, it all depends on the processing speed of AVO on the issue, just schedule your landing in Canada to a later time than earlier planned, God willing everything will go well.

Cheers

Dear All,

I've been a silent observer on the forum for quite sometime now, I decided to end my silence today. To God be the Glory my PR visa was issued today by AVO.

My timelines are:

App received: Mar 23, 2011
PER: Apr 26, 2011
2nd AOR: Aug 2, 2011
3rd AOR: Nov 4, 2011
Medical request: May 10, 2012
Medical received line: July 3, 2012
PPR: July 19, 2012
Visa Issued: July 23, 2012

To those who are about to receive PPR, here are my two cents before setting out to Accra:

1. Make sure you have a valid yellow card with proper batch numbering, I had 2 cards on me which were refused by immigration KIA at Accra. Albeit, I refused to take the vaccine as I already had the vaccination, taking the vaccine a second time within a short period usually results in illness. I was finally let go with a fine of 20cedis and issued a "legit yellow card"

2. Book a hotel close to the Canadian High Commission; you will wait 7 - 8hrs to get your visa, so it will be comforting to get a place nearby where you can lay your head while waiting. I would suggest Assemblies of God guest house (call Alidu +233244295364) or Central Hotel (both walking distance).

3. Make sure your documents (passport and immigration photos) are intact including form IMM8

Thanks everyone for providing ever useful guidance on this Journey!

@ Oriire,
Congratulations and may the almighty perfect every step of your remaining journey. You have done well to send mail to Accra.

However, do not complicate your case by considering anything legal. Are you prepare to go into legal battle with CHC bearing in mind that the suit will only be heard in Canada and not Nigeria!

Have you forgotten that there is no contract yet between you and Canada? I will expanciate this if ONLY you request!
You have done a very good thing by informing them, I am 100% sure they would not give your new born baby a temporary visit/tourist visa. But will issue him MR. It would even fasten your own case as your MR will not expire before the issuance of your PPR. Give & Take say, in 6 months time, you'd conclude everything.

Lets be +ve and pray. I wish you goodluck. BTW when are we having the Chairman.......August 18, 2012 I suppose? ;D ;D ;D

Hi Orire,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy. Pls do as the seniors have said but remember to send in addition to the updated family members form, baby's passport and additional payment: also send an updated proof of funds to accomdate the additional member of the family

Legal action ke? Wetin we carry wetin we throw? AVO asked u to inform them of changes to your family before proceeding. The process may take some additional weeks but u will get the visa, so have countless others before u... Don't jeopardize ur chances with ill advised actions pls. A lot of people have passed thru your similar situation.

On a lighter note, God saved u bro, madam for born for frankfurt airport... Spend the time getting her to rest and recover, u'll find out the few months u spend processing will even help madam better dan rushing off to a new land with a new baby...

Regards bro

@ Orire, Many congratulations on the arrival of our lovely gift. may the hand of the lord rest mightily on him. There are many preparations in the heart of a man, but the will of God will surely stand. Kindly take your time to do the necessary, for yourself , immediate and the new addition to the family. The first step taken is okay in notifying AVO, while you wait for the reply, check to see that the plan for the whole family relocation is solid and firm, nothing amiss especially for the new baby. Dont be in a rush. Take your time. You are already done. Once again, congrats

@ Orire, congrats on the arrival of the new baby, may the Lord make him affect his generations positively but while u await accra's response u need to know that u'll be needing Birth Certificate and International passport for the boy as this will be part of the requirements Accra will include in their response to you. Below find a copy of the mail we received when we were to add our baby.

Dear Sir/Madam,
For the new addition to your family, kindly provide the following:
* An updated IRPA application for you and your spouse. An application includes the Application for Permanent Residence in Canada [IMM 0008], the Schedule 1: Background/Declaration [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 1] and the Additional Family Information form [IMM 5406]. Forms can be found at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/application-regular.asp.
* Payment of the Application for Permanent Residence Fee for your new dependent if he is accompanying. (for current fees, please consult: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp)
* Copies of birth certificate for your new dependant
* 4 passport-sized photos for your new dependant, as per the photo specifications found in Appendix C of the visa office specific instructions. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37100.pdf;
* Copies of the biographical pages from valid passports for your new dependant.

I took my baby to the passport office at just 11days, so since you wouldn't want any time wasted start preparing once the baby is named forward march to get the Birth Certificate as well as to the passport office.

All the best.

Dear Forum Members,
My sincere and unlimited appreciations for your time and steps taken to find best solution to my present situation. May Almighty God open the door of umerited favours, blessings and good tidings to everybody.

I checked with the Airlines, only Delta has no restriction even if the EDD is the next 24 hours but conditioned to the availability of the US transit Visa. I immediately turned down the option because of the percieved arrogance of the embassy officials(based on past experience);since i cannot stand the insult of someone telling me that i might not leave their country even when available facts show that most Nigerians in our category can even employ them or better say earn higher. Sound funny? Apologies for my arrogance.

Checking with my Gynaecologist, he was of the opinion that the baby( already at 38wks 3days) delivery should have been earlier(EOD) and we immediately concurred. To God be the glory, we now have another baby boy.

In conjuction with my Consultant, these are my likely steps
. Inform CHC of the present situation for the best approach(mail already sent)
. Proceed to Accra with fully updated forms including the new baby and see if visa will be issued for the rest of the family just to complete landing while the baby will be allowed on temporary visa pending his PR.
. In case they behave funny(Pa Awoderu's sister initial scenerio and one other forum member) then we consider legal actions.

I am trying my best possible not to misrepresent data while I expect them to respond favourably since their inability to keep up with timeline added up to the present.

Great people, what do you think?

congratulations for the new bundle of joy.
