I have accounts at both RBC and scotia and I work in the industry. RBC is one the best banks in Canada on so many terms. Everyone has their opinion but truth is RBC is immigrant friendly and there is no shakers? Which branch did you go that they shakaraed. Customer service is one of the key points in RBC and truth is, like it or not, there is nothing scotiabank can do that can surpass RBC.

Now flaky. I am very curious about the banking thing. Can you please further educate us on this forum on how best to handle our funds when we land.

Please i want to find out if the temporary drivers license is usable in Canada and if its advisable (or advantageous) to get the current drivers license from FRSC before coming to Canada. We are about to renew our licenses.

the new drivers' license will help you to skip some steps when collecting canadian drivers's license.....with about 3 years driving experience on the naija DL you will only need to write the knowledge test and do a road test but with out it you will have waiting period of at least 9 months before you can do a road test depending on province......you can also drive with the naija DL for 3 months

congratulations to all with updates...

merry Christmas and a wonderful and fulfilling 2015 to everyone

In Calgary, Alberta the temporary license is accepted as well.

The temporary drivers license is also accepted in both Saskatoon & Regina in Saskatchewan

Good news for us heading to Saskatoon! Meaning international driver's license isn't needed?

Hello House,

I am grateful I stumble on this platform online, where we have strictly Nigerians to discuss about our applications and relocation to canada.

I have been having issues with my application. My application was received in CIC on 8th of May and my processing fee was deducted sometimes in June. A letter was sent to me on August 22 telling me my UCI and application number. I was very happy and I was awaiting their next line of action or request.

I know the next thing should be Ghana acknowledging that my file has been transferred to them or sending me letter to go for my medicals. But it so surprising that I have not heard anything about my application since August 22 till date.

Pls has anybody here heard from Ghana in terms of medicals or visa. I am not even certain if my application has left Nova Scotia for Ghana.

Pls kindly advise what can I do, I have sent mail to Ghana about two weeks ago I will send to Canada tonight. Though I contacted canada via phone through a friend their and they told me it is Ghana that can answer if they have received my application or not.

since you have gotten your PER mail from CIC,your file would be in Accra don't bother to mail CIC.
