MPNP Strengthening Commitment to Faster Processing Times
Effective August 1st 2014: New Application Management Strategy takes effect to reduce processing times to less than 6 months by 2015
Current Context
From 2010 to 2014, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has allocated Manitoba with a limit of 5000 total nominations for all skilled worker and business streams of the MPNP.
Each year, the MPNP receives more Skilled Worker applications than is required to meet the 5000 limit which creates application backlogs and increases application processing times.
Currently, Manitoba has received more than enough applications needed to meet the 2014 nomination limit, with the largest, and fastest growing volume in the MPNP – Skilled Worker Overseas stream.
New Application Management Strategy to Reduce Processing Times
The MPNP is introducing this strategy to target optimum application intake levels in order to meet our annual nomination allocation and maintain faster processing times for applicants.
For 2014, the MPNP has already received more than enough applications in one stream, the MPNP – Skilled Worker Overseas stream to meet our nomination target.
Effective, August 1, 2014 until the end of the year, the MPNP will not accept new applications to MPNP – Skilled Worker Overseas stream. People who wish to apply to this stream, must submit their applications by August 1, 2014 or wait until 2015.
The MPNP – Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream and application that are part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative will CONTINUE TO BE ACCEPTED all year.
In December 2014, the MPNP will announce a new scheduled application intake period for the MPNP – Skilled Worker Overseas stream for 2015 after CIC has announced new nomination allocations for the next year
