Maslow's theorem fully applied in the matter there. I had been following for a while now. My aunt lived in Canada for 2 years short of 40 now and will tell me same for about 20 years and yet lived there, all she ever had in life are domicile there.

Those folks got the PR and they are complaining. If the government should announce and give them the option of returning the PR card and free ticket back to their destination (home country), You marvel at the level of silence you will notice everywhere.

Imagine a government given me money for producing children like the typical African family, those folks are not in this world they fully fed with manna and they are now looking for meat

True and everybody with his different expectations and strategy as well. as they say "follow your heart", and don't also be deluded, thinking Canada will solve all of your problems.

I think we are missing a key issue here,its not about these People getting PR, I feel you should look at life after getting PR, if it were that rosy majority of the people getting PR from Asia leave there wives and children and go to countries outside Canada to earn a good salary to cater for their families.

These people in that thread have been magnanimous to us by giving us insight to how it has been with them since they relocated to Canada, fortunately for us "Ibry and Canlover" are Nigerians. It is up to all of us to pick lessons that we deem applicable to us in our peculiar situation. I pray the holy spirit will give us foresight in all our endeavours.

Thanks for the link, It's a real eye opener. Going to Canada requires a solid research. Emo was actually correct about Canada needing more of trade skill people than professionals.

Its a hard choice, but someone is going to make one anyway. But, once you make it, it will be somewhat disturbing to see you (Not Loolo, but,Marcus) coming here to tell others not to make their own decision. Its a hard one. I once heard of a retired director from our CBN who currently live in Canada and lie low with a social work, what do we say to that? And the story placed here by one of us is also a living realities of what is on ground.

My point with Marcus is that, Canadian Permanent Resident Visa ordinarily were not issued in the dream. You will have to apply, wait, and then you have all the time to withdraw your application if you need to. Then you passed all that stages and then you took your hard earned savings and oops up you go to Canada, without Plan A,B,C ,D..... for the eventualities.

Then, you wake up one day and say others should not come. That is the grouse with Marcus.

But for all other gentlemen and ladies that are contributing, I appreciate all comments, including mine and yours.

Now, lets face it, again. I ask. why do I, you, and anyone in this thread wants to go to Canada? Once this is adequately defined, and checked with the owner of our life. There should be no halting between whether one wants to leave his comfort zone and chart a new course that is going to come at price in any way.

Please, if you need clarification on any of the lines am here to explain. I do not want another conflict. Not with EMO.

On the issue of clarification, I Kongratulated you o jare and you didn't thank me or wish me the same...lol
My brother, we see life from different perspectives, I have a lot of friends (PR holders)working in oil and gas sector in Nigeria and the option that they have adopted is what I described in my earlier post, if you are making over $10000 a month in Nigeria, unless you have a confirmed job I won't advice to relocated completely.

PS I am not saying that everybody most adopt this option, if you are very comfortable think very well.

The guy landed in June I think from the part 1 of his post and started complaining in Sept just within 3months!!! He has an Msc in applied Maths if I remember correctly and wants to get a teaching job in a canadian college in 3months well its not so easy

Marcus mindset and attitude should also teach us a lesson he said he cannot do volunteer job even if its in teaching position and he is not intrested in any newcomer info sessions so how can he get help? He said America is better but he has been living in America since yet no house no wife so how is it better for him?

We must approach this venture with positive attitude at the same time realistic enough to know there would be challenges ahead but with a right attitude you will overcome. For me I have no iota of doubt in my mind that I will succed in Canada,its a land of opportunity and I intend to work it out. Am not over optimistic hence I wld not be frustrated I would land, acquire canadian certifications, get a job in my field even if its entry level and I would work my way to the top.

There are several frustrated stories on the thread I read and learn from them but I draw my inspiration from the positive stories and the fact that God is in this project so it cannot fail.

Please someone that just got PPR asked me to share this!! That her PPR mail went into Junk/Sparm mail and she kep expecting it not knowing it has come!!! She said I should advise all those waiting for update to regularly check their junk mails before deleting or better still send Accra a status update so they can let you know if they have sent it or not

I lived in uk before getting my Canada pr,my first year in the uk was terrible and rough but i faced the situation but now am fine, when you get to a new country your first 6 months to a year will be rough but all you have to do is to face the situation and believe in yourself and do more research getting a pr has alot of advantage ..

All the Marcus complained is about getting a job lol he will get a good job soon then he will be happy we all have different stories everybody cant be the same i knew nija people that are doing fine.
