bros or sis, the process that you is use for getting driver licence is similarity for all canada city.the simple way will be this. before you goes to write the G1 text. you will wrote letter go meet Nigeria high commission that is locate for Ottawa, that letter is for authentication of your Naija driver licence. so therefore, you will included your oringinal Naija licence, (make sure it is the FRSC one, and not akpuruka), and processing fee payment money(money order).with prepaid return envelope addressed to you. after one weeks that you have received authentication letter from Naija commission, you will go write G1 test, and if you is pass, you will be exempt from G2(because of Naija commission letter), you will be goes straight for the full G road test.(if you think that you is too much for steering, go try am). If you is pass the driving test, the official will smile and congrat you :D, and it will issue you full G Canada driver licence, and you can carry go.

i am use this opportunities to congrat all who have get PPR, i am say it here before, time is come for many forums membars to jolly jolly, the good news will flood us like river niger, but it will not pains us like flood water.

Superb info, Mufu....no need to search any further on driver's license permit.

this is usually the case my brother, accra is kind of slow when it comes to ecas update
they usually update after taking decision. in fact for my own case, they updated 'DECISION MADE' after we collected our visas

just be patient

Yes the same with mine. Infact I just noticed today that they have updated mine to 'Decision Made' whearas I collected my visa since September 10. Please just ignore the ECAS thing.

Well, the case here in Montreal, Quebec is different. I put a call through to the responsible agency last week to book an appointment for a driver's license and I was given a list of items to bring i.e. the current valid Nigeria driver's license, COPR, CSQ and SIN card or so, there was nothing regarding letter from Nigerian High Commission except if they will ask for it later (though I strongly doubt it). To my greatest surprise, my wife and I were given a December 20th, 2012 appointment to come in for the class test with the required documents and after passing we will then do the drive test.

I guess there are too many people on the waiting list for the test because I was told that we can't get an earlier date than that for the test, so our fingers remains crossed to see how it will go.

@ Verere, congrats on the receipt of your visa.

yes sir or ma, you is also correct. we were ask for COPR and SIN card, before you is do anything as a permanent resident for canada city, you will show it that you is legally residence for canada city. also we are book for date of written text(G1), and as for letter from Naija high commission, the Ontario licence poepols and other canada city provinceses is write it in their website that you is exempt from G2 if your country office is authenticate your licence. as for road test, remember it say even G2 is have road test, but you can not be driver on 401 highways and other big highwayses. and note it that every test is book ahead of time, because plenty peoples is want to drive like you ;). we is also book. and i advice that you is book outside big city where small crowd peoples are queue. me i was book far for one town that is call orialla and i am get a date not more than one weeks. but i am add small dollarses to the driving school car that i am hire for the test, because of the far of the centre that i am book. bros or sis, i am stay in canada city for only 4 weeks and i was get my full G before i was come back.
any way sometime Quebec is fit to different because that kind cold place is want plenty peoples :D, and is fit to not mind whether you is drive left hand or right hand :P . i am plays o :D

Better to apply here because you can support yourself with all the required documents (bank statement, employer reference letters, payslips, etc) unlike when you get to Canada and you have not landed a job.

With Canada PR visa, you are sure of 10 years US visa if applying from Canada as landed immigrants, but need to proof you have a job and can fund your trip to the United States.

And if for anything they don't want to give you 10 years from here, I want to believe at least they will oblige you with 2 years which is usually the duration they give Naija citizens.
