just received my permanent residence visa today
i feel so great.
i am very very grateful for all ur advice and suport.

also i got my promotion letter in my office today.
God is just awesome and all sufficient

since today is a very blessed day for me i would like to pray for all those who are expecting rely form their various embassy on this thread
may 2012 not come to an end untill u all get ur +ve replies from ur embassys in Jesus name
may the good Lord shine his face upon all of u and may ur wait not be in vain.

I got 6k dollars with me and the rest on my skye bank visa dollars card i used it all over world to wildraw from atm want to know if that will be okay i cant hold 12,000 dollars cash,so i wanna have 6k cash and the rest on my card.
Is that okay?pls advice.

I think you will be fine with your arrangement. The issue is that there may be some limit on what you can withdraw from the ATM machine out there.

Other viable option will be to raise a CAD bankdraft for bank account opening upon landing.

That will limit your exposure with cash in transit

There is no law that says you cannot travel with $12,000 cash. All you need to do is disclose the sources and you are fine. The norm just as in Nigeria is that if you have less than $10,000, you need not disclose it at both your port of departure and arrival.

Seconded. In addition, it's not just the norm in Nigeria, but the Law. Once you have $10,000 or more,in any currency, you are required to declare it. It does not matter which country you are travelling to.
