Hi, so I recently got an invitation to apply to a province. If I say yes then I will be given 600 points, which will make my score about 1062. But I am not quite clear what follows next.
a) If I say yes to the province how much time till the score is reflected in my EE Profile?
Its not as simple as 'saying yes' to a province. Generally, a province will invite candidates from a pool based on their current skill shortages, and other criteria specific to the province. Each province also has several PNP streams with varying eligibility criteria. In some, they could require a job offer or a degree acquired in that province (ex. In the province of BC, a job offer meeting a remuneration range) and some are independent of the Express Entry program (ex. Quebec Skilled Worker). In most cases, once the Candidate receives a 'Notification of Interest' from a province, the candidate is required to apply for provincial nomination (on the provinces' website), upload documents, pay the required fees and wait for a couple of months to receive a decision.
Only after your application is approved, do you receive a Provincial Nomination Certificate and the 600 additional points reflect in the your Express Entry profile.
This is great for applicants whose current CRS scores are low and are unable to meet the present ITA threshold scores. But be advised, this adds around 3 months to your timeline and to your overall costs (ballpark figure $1,500-2,000, in addition to your application fee for Express Entry $1,325)
b) Will I have to wait for the draws after my score update to be invited to apply? I am of the FSW category.
Once the 600 points are added, you will immediately receive an ITA in the subsequent draw.
c) what are PNPs draws happening these days? are they applicable in my case or not?
Every province has a distinctly separate PNP process. The PNP application process and its applicability to your case depends on the province that sent you a Notification of Interest and the stream you apply under.
please guide me through this.
