Hello everyone!

Just wondering what the next steps should be and how to proceed after getting the eCOPR, but not the physical card. When/how should the SIN number be changed? Also, what about the health card, does that need to be updated/changed as well? Anything else that could be done?

So far that’s what I updated.

I changed SIN online (got it in 15 days via post) and went to the the provincial service center to update my status and get a new health card. Try searching for old posts, there’s lots of them here.

If you have investments you may need to share with your bank / investing platform your new SIN if it’s needed for tax purposes.

for CRA account, it’s automatically linked. If you used a sign in partner previously, it won’t work anymore, you have to create a new account.

Do we have to go through the below process after getting eCOPR:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/application-approved.html

I m talking about these steps particularly:
<<
You’ll need to have a short interview with an officer. You have two options for your interview:

  • make an appointment at one of our offices in Canada (best option)
  • go to a Canadian “port of entry” (border crossing), and present:
    • proof that you have the funds to support yourself and your family
    • your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and your permanent resident visa (if we gave you one)
>>>

Since the start of the pandemic, IRCC already stopped the flagpoling process. Once you get your COPR, you’re already considered a “landed” immigrant.

I received eCOPR.

Do I have to print the document and sign it and send it back to some office? Or is the process complete?
Help requested if someone can explain the process in detail.

I tried calling IRCC but they are auto-disconnecting the call due to high call volumes.

Thank you in advance.

Hi, I also received my e-copr like a month ago, but haven't changed my SIN or OHIP cuz both will expire in 2021 June. Should I renew them? Did you sign or upload your e-copr? I'm confused by the comments above. I thought I just needed to wait for a physical card.

Please advise.

You need to change your SIN from temporary to permanent - you can do this online or physically. Check service Canada website - change status.

for OHIP, it’s the same. You have to go to service Ontario and submit a change of status form. Your COPR should be accepted as proof that you’re already a PR.

Thanks for the info. I honestly didn't have a clue and was just waiting for the card.

Even my, e-copr has an expiration date they will renew it with a permanent SIN and OHIP card?

The expiration in eCOPR applies if your Outland - that states the last day you need to land in Canada. Since you’re inland the expiration date doesn’t matter.

Sorry, I'm being a bit annoying.... I just saw a couple of comments about some people singing their ecoprs and mailing it along with their photos to the visa offices where their coprs issued.

I only downloaded my photo in the portal email and put my residential address. I tried to call the CIC agent but couldn't get through them. Should I sign or mail something?

Please advise.

Thanks,
F.S
