AIP isn't a study permit and doesn't allow you to travel to Canada.
True that. But it won't help international students that much unless they open VFS and VAC. Because no one actually received full approval whoever submitted their file after March.

So they might revise their decision regarding VAC opening and start processing second stage approval.

Students in areas of the world with open VACs will benefit. Many have complete applications so it helps international students with complete applications waiting for approval of study permits.

So true bro.. only we Bangladeshies and Indians will have to wait till the VAC open. The funny fact is, At least High Comission of Canada in India gave a post on Facebook page and said VAC will remain close as travel restraiction has been extended to October 31. But we got no update. It's just closed for eternity.

Brazilian too. Unfortunately we don’t know when they will reopen.

Yes but they said that VACs are closed because of current travel restrictions. So if they lift restrictions for students on 20th October then there are chances that VACs will reopen in November

You are absolutely right. It will be a relief for all of us. They might even open earlier as the restrictions will be taken away from the students. Next webinar will be a key for all short of clarification. October 8 will be a big day.

One of my friends got admission letter from Toronto university and is currently in 1st semester doing online classes (outside canada).

If he applies for study visa for Jan intake, is it guaranteed to be rejected (since the travel restrictions are not lifted)?
