Newly applied Visitor visa refused but previous application going on

I re-applied after 7 September and my application was refused for a visitor visa but the previously applied application is still going on. Is that too refused or I have a glimmering of hope that the old one gets approved somehow?

Thanks for your reply. The reason I asked this because the status still shows submitted.
I was refused under 179(b).
I wanted to attend my sister’s wedding.

when they sent out the update on 7th September. they mentioned that your previous application will be withdrawn and there may not be any email or changes to it.

But you should definitely confirm from an expert

But some people In this forum got withdrawal letter for the old one. But I guess you’re right according to what IRCC says on the website. TA

Biometric 6 July
Reapplied on 21 September
Refusal on 26 September.
Applied to Ankara VO but the refusal letter came from Ottawa.

Refused under 179(b) purpose of visit and family tie in Canada and country of residence . Yeah unfortunately it seems so.
