we are going to sponsor our newborn baby and i need to know the forms i should use for that.I checked in CIC website and its pretty confusing. Is my child the principal applicant? how could he sign the forms as he is only a month old and what are the options available?
Are there different forms for babies? Please guide me.

Hey, why don't you try asking an agent from the immigration call center. I'm sure they can tell you what forms you will need...and they can also send them to you. (your baby obviously can't fill out any forms!)
Congrats on your baby!! The # 1-888-242-2100 good luck!

URGENT !! newborn's PR--leon,PMM help

1) Since I am staying in India, I am not able to contact Canadian high commission in Canada and in Indian Canadian high commission not providing correct information. I want to know who the principle applicant is? Is that my husband who is going to apply for my child or the new born baby.

2) Should my husband be the sponsor and the principle applicant together and fill the forms

3) Also what should I do in the boxes that require my son's signature, is the thumb impression is sufficient.

4) What are the forms required to apply for newborn baby, so that the case should get approved in the first place.

Thanks.

1. Assuming your spouse is a PR, (if he was a Canadian citizen, the child would be a citizen) He will have to reside in Canada and submit an application and sponsorship to Mississauga.
2. The child is the principal application and obviously can sign, so the parent has to sign for him.
3. You heed to complete the following forms: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp Proof of the medical and and copies of the passports and birth certificate as well as the fee must be included in the sponsorship/application $150.

Thanks for your clarification. also tell me,

1) whether we have to sign as parents(either my husband or myself should sign our names)in the place that require my son's sign or we have to sign my son's name?

2)should we fill the financial evaluation form(IMM 1283)?

3)My husband worked in canada for 2years and he resigned and came to india along with me for my delivery(he stayed in india for 6 months). Now he is again going back to canada as he joined the same company again. Now,in the financial evaluation form they are asking my hubby's income for 12 months preceding the date of application.
should he wait for 1yr to sponsor our child? or can he submit previous 2yrs pay stubs(excluding the last 6 months of stay in india)?

please clarify..

Hello, its the right of parent to sponsor the child; financial evaluation will not be required
The only obligation is to ensure that either you or your husband is in Canada when application is submitted and has o be there during entire process.

No, the exception that means PRs can fulfill the residency requirement by accompanying a canadian citizen only applies to accompanying a spouse or common-law partner, or (if you are a child) accompanying your parent. It does not apply when the child is the citizen.
