Hello Im due next month and i have been having some question running my mind,Im Cuban, im a permanen resident here in Canada, Im married and my husband is cuban and he lives in cuba too, we are on the sponsorship process but as you all know it takes time so he wont be here for the birth or anything, I will obviously have him on my babys birth certificate, I will also put his last name on our baby, i mean we are happily married and even thow some people have advised me not to have him on the birth certificated till hes here because ill have problem when travelling with the baby and stuff I will not do that, my questions are regarding to getting our babys passport,I have read that BOTH parents need to sing the application and theres no way he would be able to do that since he doesnt live here, not yet,so what can i do to get the passport or what documents do i need to be able to get the passport when hes not gonna be present and also when i get the passport and i decided to go back and visit my husband am i gonna be able to do that or do i need any special letter from him saying that he let the baby travel and blah blah blah ?

thanks in advance

1. You send him the passport application, he signs his portion and returns it to you and you submit it.
2. You will need a notarized letter from him, stating he has no objections for the child to leave Canada with you.
