Irving: I am just over the moon and very exhasuted trying to work everyday and still having toget ready for hubby!!!! I am just loving it!!!!

uhmm I was jus thinking.. why we clean out the dressser and closets.. wen all these men are bringing in a bag... i beginning to think a drawer should suffice.. until further notice.. lol... sorry a lil late ladyposh.. I bet you got half the room cleaned out for the MISTER!
iambless.. that is amazing congrats.. the police check usually takes a week or so, but i beleive u can pay extra for a rush, as for the medical, im unsure!

iambless : YAY!! Congrats girl! You've been on our minds so thanks for updating!! I think you are the first forum member to go through the elusive interview process so I can't wait to hear how it went. The worse is definitely over so it won't be long now. Are you able to come back to Canada or do you have to wait until everything is finalized?

ladyposh: 2 more sleeeeps!! EEEEK! :D

Irving: I think you are on to something.... 1 bag = 1 drawer! LOL. Wha yu seh Proper? :P

thanks for posting this. I am the friend she was discussing. They said because his visa ran out that there was a warrent for his arrest. He has to sign in at immigration once a month and now we are just waiting for his papers to come back. they have requested an update of all of our information so the lawyers are saying that they hope that means that they are getting ready to render a decision. Hoping that the PRA takes its time for it to come back denied, we know he wont get a refugee status from jamaica lol but its buying us time. they said if it comes back before the decision for his status then he will have to go back to JA and re apply for his papers from there. I have heard of others that have gone through the same thing but Canada Border Services put their removal order on hold until a decision was rendered for their status. Guess we have no luck. Cross your fingers for us.

hey guys i wonder how long it takes for someones filing to come through, i am a bit frustrated now. im longing for my partner.

Oooh my that is a situation...hoping for the best for you Pheonix!:( Keeping my fingers crossed!

Ripley...there is no answer to that. Its different for everyone. Right now there is a 7-10 month average...but it could come through sooner or take longer. Each case is unique to its self! Just keep your fingers crossed!:)

Phoenix- Welcome to the forum. What you are going through just seems so unfair! You must be terrified! Prayers works wonders and we will keep you in our prayers for a good outcome. Try and remain positive, though I know this is easier said than done. I still struggle from time time with that but you'll drive yourself insane....oh ya and my mother reminded today of another success story with your similar case. It was years ago but nevertheless still a positive outcome. Only difference the couple wasn't married. IMM gave them an opportunity to get marrired before ordering her to leave and her husband filed for her PRV and was successful. Lets hope your case doesn't come to that! Did they say how long for a decision?

I do know of a successful refugee claim from Jamaica btw. downfall is you can't return back home for a long time.

Irving- weh u seh...dem nuh need closet lol

Ripely welcome to the forum. From what we've seen, both on this forum and the KG forum is that 2010 is averaging 7-10 months. Some a little longer and some sooner. Hang in there! It makes it somewhat easier sharing with others traveling a similar road. Please share with us your timeline.

Good morning family, i am praying for some more good news today.

Quote from today's Daily Bread - The Pilot’s Rutter

By reading the sailing details in a rutter, captains could avoid hazards and make it through difficult waters.

In many ways, the Christian life is like a voyage, and the believer needs help in navigating life’s perilous seas. We have that help because God has given us His Word as a “spiritual rutter.” Often when we reflect on a meaningful passage, we can recall God’s faithfulness through trying circumstances. As the psalmist suggests, perils are found not only in life situations but also in our inner tendency toward sin. Because of these dual concerns, he wrote, “Direct my steps by Your Word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me” (119:133).

As you reflect on the teaching in the Bible, you’ll be reminded of God’s past care, assured of the Lord’s guidance in trying circumstances, and warned against sinfulness. That’s the advantage of having a “spiritual rutter.”

My Bible is a guidebook true
That points for me the way,
That gives me courage, hope, and cheer
And guidance for each day. —Anon.

With God’s Word as your map and His Spirit as your compass, you’re sure to stay on course.

Pheonix1975: Welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing the rest of the story. We definitely have all fingers and toes crossed that things work out for you. It sounds like the lawyer is helping you guys to make some really informed decisions and they know the little loopholes and stall tactics you will need to get it done in time! Keep the faith!!

Ripley: Welcome!! As they say, you are preaching to the choir. LOL. Hopefully you will be able to find comfort and support at least from people who know what you are going through. How long ago did you apply?
