Hey yall,how is everyone doing? I hope all is well and we get some more good news congrats to those who have had passport requested and all the good stuff. I was off for a while making up for the past 3 yrs of my long distance relationship ;D since hubby came home it was pure fun and madness I am so greatfull to god for bringing this wait to an end and cant wait for everyoneown to come to an end as we all deserve it. Hello all - I am a newbie

I received an email this morning from CIC saying my hubby got approvd to sponsor me.
THe file has now been transferred to Kingston office.

The only thing we havent done is criminal report.

Apart from the long waiting game now - whats next?

Mrs. Hopeful: Welcome to the forum!! I am surprised that you were already approved without the police report as I thought that had to be done prior to your application being received in Canada but congratulations!! Now the real waiting begins. Don't be overly concerned about the 17 months on the CIC website. In the last calendar year, we are averaging between 7-8 months.. some a little under and some a little over. Your husband might receive an AOR letter however that does not always happen. You can expect to hear nothing for the next few months though. With your client ID number in your letter, you will be able to check your status online!! It's always nice to be surrounded by people going through the same journey so again welcome!

Now you join the waiting line with us! Every case is different so it seems from what I've been told on here, the waiting time in Kingston seems to be averaging 7-10 months but some are shorter or longer.

The criminal check will be something you will need to get right away as that is rather important and I don't think they can move forward in Kingston much without it...correct me if I'm wrong others. I'm assuming they will be calling you for it at some point. But I'm not sure, but I believe it could possibly cause a few small delays because it would be considered missing documentation/paperwork right?

Hopefully though your file goes through smoothly and quickly and your soon reunited with your hubby. Again welcome to the forum!
